BANDERS UNITE ! Get to know each other chatter !

Kelly I think 1200 is a good figure, If I remember right, that's the 2 week quick start RC calorie limit. Doing the exercise alongside that must be worth a go.

Today's food

strawberry activia yogurt fat free
French onion soup
Fat free vanilla yogurt
Peas mushed up because I really needed to chew!

Hi all my fellow banders - Well tomorrow is the start of my new regime.

I have to travel to Bromsgrove for my band fill - almost a 2 hour journey, but will be worth it if I get the results I need.

Neen - have decided to take your advice and do a daily food log - and yes will weigh in on a Saturday, if that is whenyou all record your weights.
Probably won`t get online until later in the day because of my work, but will not let it prevent me recording.
I am hoping with all your support I can join you in the battle to get our bands working efficiently for us.

Nice to see you Kelly - you have done really well so far, and it will be lovely to have a fellow bander on board. You`ll have to let us know how you get on with R C - I have a group near me within 20 mins walk away; and might even toy with the idea myself to help me especially to up my excercise; as well as to keep me on the straight and narrow with food choices. Be good to compare notes!

Have a good day tomorrow everyone. xxx

Love Kat x

Good luck with your fill Kat! Hope you get a really great booster from it :D
I think since we started our group log, it's been helpful for most of us...and a problem shared is a problem halved etc
Knowing you all are putting down what you have and making that extra effort makes me want to try harder to do my bit and not let you down xxxx
Cross fingers for this Saturday :D

Hello all. Well the cross stitching helped last night and stopped me finding other things to nibble. Tonight I've had a nice soak in the bath. I have been really hungry though and when I looked at what I was eating I'm not really surprised. I was eating lots of 'snacky' type things, nothing of any real substance so although my calories were about right, there was very little protein in it. So, I popped into Morrisons on my way home from work tonight and stocked up on all things protein. Tomorrow is a fresh start and I'm going to try and eat a bit more of the right stuff so that I can stay full for longer - after all isn't that what I had the band fitted for??!! Might have left it a bit late to have too much of an effect on this week's weigh in but hopefully I won't have put on! If the extra protein thing doesn't work I may have to book myself in for my first fill.
Hope everyone is well. Night all x

I could do with logging down each day what I'm eating, any advice would be great if you all see me go astray! Today I had
Strawberry slimfast
Milky coffee skimmed milk
Chicken and veg soup
Chocolate mousse
Sugar free jelly
Fat free yogurt
Milky coffee

I'm still on fluids only banded one week on Thursday :)
Thanx all x

I saw a post earlier, goodness knows where it was now, but somebody was recommending a place here on this site where you can keep track of what you are eating. It is in todays posts somewhere. Sorry I cant be more specific.

I think that was it, thank you dotty.

Hi Everyone

Nice to see so many positive banders. I too am sticking to this thread from now on as I want this to be a positive place for me.

Neen - thank you for being so upbeat and helping us all stay positive.

Kitkat1 - good luck with your fill.

mellyb28 - I'm so jealous - I can't wait until I get enough weight of to soak myself in the bath.

Cazraline - I think that's where I fell down when I first had the band - I was eating too little and not losing and I really messed up and then had big problems with fills not happening and poor aftercare. I think you have some really good advice there.

hope2bethina - I like RC better than all the clubs - because of the exercise. And as has been said their diet looks good for banders.

JoxJo - I use weightlossresources.co.uk - it's not free though - but I find it really useful.

Well today, I have had

Yogurt
Actimel (0%)
Hungarian Goulash soup
Milk drink
Chicken and veg stir fry (dry fry with a little water) and 3/4 pitta bread.

I'm doing well day by day but I don't really feel I have much restriction. I'm at 4ml at the moment - think I might need another ml or 2.

Evening all - yes it is still evening. I go to work for the day and wow - mass postings on the thread - excellent;).

If I miss anyone out it is not intentional - just I am cream crackered after another long day in the salt mine that is called work. Kelly welcome back. Kat glad you are going to join in and hope the fill does the trick. Neen and Mazza our two anchors - hope you are both well. To all new bandits pre-fill - this is the hardest time - use it wisely to start learning about good food choices and portion control - and stick with us:D.

Food for today - almost identical to yesterday:

Actimel
1 cup of coffee
3 slices of ham spread with 3 laughing cow light cheese triangles
seafood sticks, salad, low fat mayo, chilli dipping sauce - drizzles of both, 2 clemetines
rest of home made rabbit casserole with broccoli and a few peas.

Exercise - lots of walking to and from meetings - I walk at the fastest pace I can.

Today I noticed walking back from one meeting I managed to walk at a good pace and hold a conversation - pre op that was just not possible - progress:D.

Still suffering with fluid retention but it will take a few weeks for the meds to start really working - plus I am a lot more mobile and am still hefty so the ankles are taking a pounding:rolleyes:.

I am due a fill on Friday so have the afternoon off. Straight after the fill it is 2 weeks of liquids followed by 2 weeks of puree/soft foods. Bizarrely I am looking forward to 4 weeks of not really worrying about cooking for myself. Still have to feed and a water Mr TB and I will use the time to experiment with new dishes and Mr TB gets to be the tester:D.

Well better head for my bed!

Everyone is doing really well - keep going mon amiee (I was hopeless at French at school:D).

Heya girls !!! Well done everyone for today :D
I just wanted to remind you about the tuna tip....of course , liking tuna is really helpful here :D

To help with nibbling/ cravings / feeling full enough..a tip I got via my letting agent of all people,
Keep a drained (brine or spring water type not packed in oil) tinsworth of tuna in the fridge, mixed with a sprinkling of vinegar and black pepper or salad cream...so to clarify, a small tin which is 140 cals drained, adding nothing if you mix with vinegar and pepper but around another 40 cals for a tablespoon of salad cream..

have that mix in the fridge ready to chomp when you feel extra hungry or fancy nibbling when you know you shouldn't.
This will not damage your calorie limit at under 200 for the lot and is sooooo filling and dense , plus it helps kill off sweet cravings, plus obviously , protein is excellent for us and will satisfy for a nice long time...a lot longer than choc or a biscuit.
See if this helps any of you tackle the munchies xxxx

Ooo I can have that next week when I'm mushy :) yum yum

Work is manic and so busy looking for a house in spare time not had proper chance to come on.
Easting is rubbish atm. TOM is a pain. Sweet tooth is raging.
On the plus side I've finally dumped my old huge 28/30 dressing gown and clawed out the 22/24 one again. (not a major plus, heck I'm clutching at straws)
Hoping to have a better day.
