BANDERS UNITE ! Get to know each other chatter !

Well done Julie. Fantastic progress. I asked Mazza on another thread and I am asking you too. Could you post a couple of your typical daily food intakes just to give new people an idea as to types of food, portion amounts etc. Same goes for any other experienced banders out there. Mazza has very helpfully posted a link to a page with some very useful info.

Thanks

Ooops sorry:eek:. I am having lots of senior moments today. I am having TOTM having thought I had gone through the menopause and not having had one for three years. I haven't got over the shock. How about on the thread started by Mazza and then all the info will be together. Thanks again.

Morning all. How is everyone today? Start of my second week of liquids. I need to find some other types of soup. Has anyone tried the Covent Garden variety? I notice they have a range which is low fat, low calorie single carton servings.

Well done Neen :D Afternoon to you all, hope you are managing well with your liquid diet TB.....I got so bored of soup lol Ive not had any since I went onto purees!
Hope you all have a lovely weekend :D XX

Well done Neen, that's fab.

TB I've tried a couple of the Covent garden varieties and they were ok. I've got a fab soup recipe, so easy and tasty. You cook a handful of diced onions, add 4 carrots and 1 peeled potato (diced), cover with any stock and cook, once soft blend it and then add 3 tblsp sour cream (more if required) and season to taste. I use the lower fat sour cream to try and keep the fat down. xx

That sounds very tasty. I found one of the new low cal covent garden one's in Asda - 99 calories , single serving tomato and peppers, so I am going to give it a try tomorrow. Roll on next Saturday:D.

Morning all. How is everyone? You are all very quiet. Well a week done on liquids and another week to go. I tried one of the Covent Garden soups last night and it made a lovely change. It is very hard not to get bored with food. I suppose if you keep variety in what you eat your body will not get used to one particular thing and you are less likely to start picking at the wrong things. I am going to have to get myself organised when I get back to work to ensure I cook meals rather than convenience stuff. Anyway I am rambling.

Happy Sunday everyone.

Hi Tranquil, busy with the kids as usual on a weekend..I expect a few others will be as well...oh plus I came down with a stinker of a cold.
I hope to get my bum on the treadmill this week, Dean has the week off work so we are hoping for at least one day out together , unfortunately last time he was off we got as far as weds morning and then had the youngest sent home from school and excluded for the rest of the week for behaviour issues so it kinda killed our attempt at a normal few days!
Never mind eh!
If we get any time this week I consider it a blessing and I hope we'll be forcing ourselves to watch biggest loser so we can brainwash some good behaviour in!

In all honesty , No Tb, I have been thinking about this myself over last couple of days, I have 4.4 mils in 7 mil band and I am still losing weight, so if they offer it too be I will be saying no , I am very happy with the weight loss I have had and I am never sick, or dont get rabid dog syndrome (lol) I think I have mastered the art of when enough is enough ............Tbh its gr8 this band malarky for me, even though I got off too a shaky start with port flipping and then having port resighted. Since I had this fill in november it has not altered for me , some days I can eat more then others and then other days the restriction is real tight, I just play every meal by ear tbh. I just feel very humble and lucky to have been given this chance, so defo not gonna blow it. Thanks for your reply - Julie xxx

That is fantastic Julie. I hope I am as successful. The real test for me will be when I get a long period of eating 'normal' meals which I have not had yet. Thanks for replying.
