bypass daily menu -

Bought some more bits for the holiday....pleased to say I'm in a size eight to ten picked up some tops a dress and a blazer (primark bargains) was thinking eight to ten is a fluke but bought a cropped denim jacket from a different store and linen trousers from another.....id originally aimed to be a 12 for this trip so all this is a real bonus.....my sis confirmed today when we first booked and i was buying a 12 item she was dubious as to whether I'd get there! (well I was in a 28 at the time!)...just wishing I could eat n enjoy something right now!

Hello

I cant wait to buy clothes in Primark!

Breakfast - not had breakfast as had a lie in and then started on dinner (had prepared most of it all in my cooking fest!)
Lunch - Sunday Dinner on a small side plate, covered 1/2 to 3/4. Had chicken, loads of veg and a bit of mash. Really nice.
Dinner - just ate 2 fish fingers and 2 tablespoons of beans. Added some cheese to the beans (two tablespoons of beans) (need to keep up dairy as I only drink black coffee)
Snacks - none yet but if I feel hungry I will have a Weetabix as I didn't have breakfast.
Drinks - black coffee and NAS orange juice

Trying to up my protein! I cooked for my family and parents and even did them a desert, didn't bother me at all.

Chrisa - I was made redundant and it was like a bereavement. I rushed into a job and am still there 4 years later and I don't enjoy it. However I have an interview this Tuesday, less money and more hours but its for a charity and sounds good. I worked for a call centre, now work for the NHS and am looking forward to the next chapter. I have been hanging on until after my surgery.
Best of luck with your job hunting, I am sure the next opportunity is around the corner x

When you say chicken an loads of veg what do you mean Hun? Remember that you no longer need to bulk on veg - your intake will be so limited anyways. In the early days sometimes all I could manage was the protein.

Hi Teaspoon of each veg type, cauliflower, broccoli, carrots, swede etc... its hard to describe how much chicken... maybe a tablespoon full? I enjoyed the different flavours of the veg, even though there wasn't loads of it! Does this seem about OK?

Thank you Borough girl. Think you need to look at your diet sheet you got from hospital. If you study it then you will be able to record down till yu get it right. YOu must have had your op at SRH did ya? They used to work on 6 proteins, 2 veg, 2 fruit, 2 carbs till you get further out then its 2-3 carbs. At this stage you will no doubt be having around a heaped teaspoon of 1 type of veg for 1 vge portion, etc. when its pureed- soft stage. To up your protein- low fat custard, yoghurts, milk with ya weetabix or porridge. Half a sachet of porridge would suufice at this stage. If you didnt get a diet sheet from the dietician google it and i would say measure everything til you get to know what is a portion if you eating to big a portion you guna stretch ya pouch back before it has time to settle. xx

May a size 8 - 10 WOW. Heres me chuffed to bit sthat I am an 18. My body is finished I think it is maintaining, you have done fab. xx

Sounds like too much veg and too little protein to me Hun. I would maybe have had around 3 tblsp protein based and 1 tsp veg. Never really managed the carbs so much early on. But I think your protein/ veg ratios are off - we can all eat different amounts.

How horrible for you. Its worth getting checked out, as there may be a underlying cause. I do hope you feel better soon though.

I'm having a bit of a bad pouch day, a bit tight and uncomfortable.

Today's meal plan:

B: Shreddies and 200ml skimmed milk.
S: Actimel. 1/2 banana and 1tsp peanut butter.
L: Left over chilli with a little cheddar and sour cream.
S: 1 Nutrigrain biscuit and cheeseT.
D: Roast pork with gravy and carrots (blending this up a bit, as its going to be a bit too tough yet)
S: 1/2 milk 1/2 water highlights drink.

In addition: 1 cup decaf coffee and think I'll only manage 1.5ltrs of NAS squash today.

Right, I will make the change. I have been tired today and have had to have a nap. This could be why. Will be better tomorrow! I have bought in some low fat crustless quiche for tomorrow and also a dinner (left over from today) but I can adjust and have more chicken than veg.

Gotta commend you borogirl you are so open to advice and taking ideas and opinions on....I think you will be very successful in your losses going forward!
Fjsinc - mine feels achey and tight too....
Thanks chrisa, I think u ate doing fab xx

I know the cause of my discomfort, my vits got stuck this morn, and had an unfortunate foaming at the mouth incident.

Sometimes I THINK its a case of not chewing our food up totally n when its swallowed obviously its guna be painful n could get stuck which can cause some bruising hence the tenderness. xx

Def guilty if that on occasion when I try to eat and multi task - at my desk, chat on phone, work at computer.....need to make time for proper food, eat properly and enjoy the taste....

Its usually after I have eaten meat and you can findyourself swallowing a bigger peice than usual an dit stoo late when you thinki shouldv chewed thta more, thta is when the discomfort starts, sometime I think it can just make the pouch overly sensitive for a while n thats why sometimes you are sick body panics and so refuses to move it on and back out it comes. Sometimes we just like you say get engrossed in things and forget years of bad habits cannot be erased in a year or so. Always guna be a learning curve for us, Everyday we learn something new wethe its about little poochy or about the world. xx

Hi Thanks. You guys are the experts! I have been studying your menus for such a long time and it really helps when you are a pre op / early post op. I hope to be successful, just shopping on the Next site in anticipation for smaller clothes! I am a 20-22 now (was 22-24). I started this over 20stone when first referred, day of op 18stone 5 and now at 17stone, so I can see the difference.
I do miss fruit so I need to get this into my menu, and sometimes I crave something sweet after a meal. Not sure what to have???
Thanks again for your support x:p

I have an options or highlights drink to satisfy any sweety type craving. But what about some stewed apple? Its fruit and sweet!

Today. almost 7 weeks post op - I've had my first proper sunday dinner. Braised beef in ale with courgettes and 1 salad potato. It took two attempts, as I had the rest for my tea of which I left on my plate. But boy, was it good. Don't need anything else now all evening.

Fruitwise I like melon, strawberries or blueberries....apple without the skin is nice with lf philly cheese....
Be careful about stewed fruits as they could make you dump I have managed some stewed rhubarb previously and it was delish :)

Recently I've had a craving for Doritos/ Ritz with dippers. Never used to entertain such things, now I love them. Salsa is a revelation!

Make your own dips then they can be as spicy as you want and less calories in them as for the dipping items that's different use what works
