That cake sounds absolutely yummy shelleymarie...
I also weighed myself this morning mid week and found that I have picked up 1.5lbs!!! very scarey indeed...
Did you not consider the cheaper option of the leisure centre gym shelleymarie? My leisure centre gym is really quite well equipped and much much cheaper than a regular gym/fitness club....

It's so frustrating isn't it? The body works in some mysterious ways. I've no idea where our weight comes from but hoping we both get a big loss next week.

Unfortunately leisure centre not an option for me, I live half an hour away from a town and only one gym there. As I don't drive and the buses are terrible it's not really an option. I spoke to the doctors and they do referrals but there is a waiting list. So I'm going to have to spend some money in the mean time. I'm hopefully getting more hours at work in December so that be good :) xx

That is a shame as the leisure centre gyms are usually pretty good. Does that mean that you will have to bus into town to get to your gym each time?
Well maybe look at paying out for the gym as an investment in yourself that will pay you back dividends as the weight comes off..... I'll keep my fingers crossed that you get the extra hours at work that you want xx

Unfortunately no buses near me so will have to walk the half hour to and from the gym but I guess that adds to the exercise. Thanks so much Amanda, hopefully we will both get the rewards we deserve over the next few weeks :) xx

Well you are right about the walking, that will certainly add to the daily exercise. Must admit, I walk to the gym in the village as it's only about a mile away from me, but admittedly will drive there if the weather isn't great. If we put the effort in we will both be at goal weight this time next year, and being overweight will just be a dim memory hopefully... xx

Congratulations Chrisa! Excited to see it all still moving for you a year on, gives me hope :)

I had a exciting NSV (well for me) last night. I was aching after having to do lots things in the rain yesterday so I thought I would try and have a bath. The last bath I had was traumatic, didn't fit and struggled to get out but had to sit down at the time as couldn't stand long enough for a shower. I've since been using a shower board but last night I slid in with ease and enjoyed a good soak! It's amazing how much the little things really make this all worth it :) Hope everyone has a good day xx

That's fantastic Shelley!! I think it is these sort of things that make us realise just how far we have come already... xx

Hello everyone!! Hope you are all well. You've all done amazingly :)
I haven't posted in the daily menu thread for a couple of weeks because my food as been all over the place. I intend to get back on track asap. I am working long days all this week - well have been and am the rest of this week so once I get a bit more time I can reschedule my healthy eating. I am also going to start a menu blog but with photos - for my own benefit. If I have to take a picture of every meal I eat and foods I snack then I can stay focused and stay on track with no sneaky bits and of course everyone is welcome to comment and give me tips or pointers which are always gratefully received!
Keep up the good work Ladies xx

Yesterday's menu

I still think I'm eating too much.

You are doing fine Paula, doesn't seem too much at all. Remember fluid just slides through your pouch so when you move on to mushy, then solid you will manage less and also because you are swollen inside you won't feel the restriction like you do later on. Mine came into play around 8 weeks post op. Everything you are having seems fine and certainly not too much :)

How do you manage to eat crispbreads and bread with having such a small stomach now, dont it get stuck

Different people manage different things post op Kay, some people can't eat bread at all but most people can eat crispbreads/crackers. Crunchy things actually go down really well because you chew them to mush in your mouth before you swallow. Your stomach ends up about the size of an egg so if you imagine any of the food you are going to eat mushed up into an egg size, you can see that a slice of bread or half a slice will fit but it does tend to swell a bit once in the stomach so this is why we are often told it might not be possible to eat bread. Toast is easier than bread and of course some people choose not to have it at all as they like to stick to a high protein, very low carb diet. Personally I like to have some carbs a day and probably have bread around two/three times a week. I couldn't manage more than 1 slice at a time and that is only now I'm 4 months post op. I wouldn't have managed that at all in the early days whilst the stomach is still swollen. Hope this helps :)

Lovely to see you here Anna, have missed you. I love the sound of your photo menu, very good idea. I think it won't only be helpful to you but also to anyone else unsure what people can eat post op. I glad you are enjoying your bath too :D like I said it's the little things that make all the difference :) Pleased for you too hun xx
