My BMI is 33.4 so unable to have a bypass and wouldn't be able to get funding (thanks Maphillips for the link) it's a bit of a postcode lottery. Lots of private uk practices won't even do a band for a BMI of less than 35. I'm not at all interested in the balloon, after reading research it doesn't seen that successful and I've tried to read unbiased reports and also looking at people's real life experiences. However I work for the NHS and there is a private hospital next door and they give a 10% discount to NHS staff so gonna find out more soon. Has anyone had the plication done? That's seems an option
Had mine done in belgium in 2007. Heliogast band . Brilliant hygiene n four of us at same hotel were done together and was fine n we became friends
previous bander, now awaiting by pass or sleeve this year.
How long after surgery wud I be able to exercise again? And how many cals a day could u consume as a bander?
