Gastric Bypass Daily Menus

Hi Lisa, I hope you don't mind me saying this, but I think you have done fantasticly well. It really can't be easy coping with a loved one in hospital, and if your recognising that you are turning to food as a comfort it is brilliant progress! Your bypass can only help you to a certain point, and the fact that your trying to understand the reasons that are driving you to eat certain foods is an achievment in itself. I know feeling proud of yourself can't come easy with what your going through, and I am in no way trying to say that I understand what's going on emotionally, as noone but you can fully know that; but I can only hope that you can feel some sense of achievement in how you are recogising this behaviour and are dealing with it, because as I said before, you are doing fantastically well!

Saying that, I didn't do too well food wise myself today.

Wednesday 24th February

0930 Breakfast: 1/2 Slice Seeded Toast [60]

1200 Snack: Melon [20], 2 Cheese Slices [70]

1430 Lunch: 'Tidgy' Toad in the Hole [125], 2 tbsp Mash [100]

1800 Dinner: KFC (9 Chips [75], 6 Popcorn Chickens [100], 2 bites of BBQ Boxmaster [100])

2000 Snack: Left over BBQ Boxmaster(about 1/4) [200]

«Won't be going to KFC again! I walked in there and wanted to eat everything... But when I actually tried it, it tasted foul! Silly bypass made KFC taste nasty :-( »

BTW, I absolutly LOVE those WW Lemon Chicken Risotto! I know there is a lot of rice with it, but it is a real treat for me!

Breakfast...2 boiled eggs 1 slice brown seeded toast
Lunch.......1/2 brown bread tuna and mayo sandwich
Dinner.... ww chicken stew and dumplins
Snacks... cheese and poppy seed snacks
Drinks 2 litres s/f squash, water , 2 coffees, 1 skinny latte.

Friday 26th February

Breakfast....none very busy and forgot
Lunch....small jacket spud with 2 tbsp mince meat and onions
Dinner... 1/2 small chicken wrap with ranch dressing (mcdonalds) it was vile
Snacks..... 4 thin melba toast with primula cheese spread a handfull of grapes
Drinks..... 2 coffees, 1 litre s/f squash, 1 mint skinny cow hot chocolate drink (yummy)
 
Saturday 27th February

Breakfast...1/2 a toasted cinnamon and raisen bagel
Lunch... Was at sea life centre all day so had bag of quavers
Dinner... 3 fries and a smaller than small piece of my home made chicken and veg pie
Snacks.... 2 ice lollies, a handfull of grapes
Drinks.... 3 coffees, water, s/f squash 1 skinny latte

1500 Lunch: 3 Quorn Nuggets [90], 1/2 Garlic Pitta [80], Salad

1900 Dinner: Chiquitos (Shared Starter - Prawns, Sweet Potato, Chicken, Ribs...; Bit of everyone elses main - Chicken, Prawns, Tortilla, Chips...)

---> It was my Brothers 21st. I have NO clue as to Kcal content! So I would have to guesstimate around 700Kcal, as I had a tiny nibble of most things.

Breakfast.....1 poached egg, 2 tbsp baked beans, 1 Rasher bacon
Lunch..... 2 slices chicken,2 sprouts hanful carrots, 1 florette broccolli, 2 tbsp mash, 1/2 small roast potato and gravy
4 lychees and a squirt lf squirty cream
Dinner....2 slices seeded brown bread (cut crusts off) 1 1/2 slices corned beef 3 cherry tomatoes.
Snacks...2 krisprolls with primula spread, 1 ice lollie
Drinks....1 coffee, 1 skinny latte, s/f squash 1 skinny cow mint hot choc

Today...

Breakfast - 2 lean rashers bacon, 1/2 scrambled egg, blueberries
Lunch - picked lamb out of a lamb rogan josh, 1/2 onion bhajia, 1 tsp coleslaw.
Strawberries, blueberries and almonds.
Dinner - 1/3 griddled sirloin steak, mushrooms, 2 chips, 1tbsp peas.
Snack - strawberries, blueberries, 1 apple, few walnuts and cashew nuts, 1 dairylea cheese. 1 malted milk biscuit.

2 litres squash so far...
 
Wow I have missed posting!
I noticed that my carb intake had cropped up and I was eating carbs at least 2 meals a day! I know its a no-no so that, along with the fact my portion size had increased meant I did the 5 day pouch test.
My pouch has shrunk and Im on solid protein with MINIMUM carbs!

Peanut butter and vanilla protein shake (mmmmmmmm)
protein flapjack bar thing
2 fillets of mackerel
4 tablespoons of cottage cheese with added chopped up cheese
2 small bites of a pork chop, cauliflower cheese with added cheese and 1 potato wedge

Monday 1st March

Breakfast - muller light with 1tbsp cereal
Lunch - 3/4 wrap with smoked salmon, philadelphia & avocado. few nuts/strawberries and blueberries
Dinner - sausage casserole (1 sausage, root veg, pulses & sauce), 1/2 roasted new potato, peas & sweetcorn.
Evening - 2 ryvita with s/f peanut butter, cucumber, blueberries

2 litres s/f squash

Wednesday -

Breakfast - porridge
Lunch - 1/4 wrap with tuna/cucumber, 4 tbsp broccoli/stilton soup, 1 pear, 1 strawberry, few blueberries
Dinner - leftover sausage casserole, 1/4 tuna wrap.

Snacks - (been swimming so hungry today) - 1.5 rich tea biscuits, few nuts & seeds, sml bowl cereal. May have a ryvita or fruit later.
