January 2014 surgeries

One week post Gastric Band and all is well so far.

Amazed how well I feel.

Out of ben 1 1/2 hours after surgery and back to work (desk based) after 2 days. No significant pain, only used the paracetamol suspension for a couple of days.

Quite a bit of bruising around the incisions but not painful.

It's been nice to get the dressings off:)

One week post op update.

Feeling great:)

Had gastric band surgery on Sunday, back at work (desk based) Tuesday morning.

No pain to speak of (other than some wind pain in the night), just used the paracetamol suspension as pain relief for a few days.

Significant bruising around the incision wounds but good to get the dressings off:)

So far so good.

i must be injecting the fragmin wrong then as a couple of them are hellisly painful today, could have sworn this morning that my big port site had moved 15 inches lower

Did they do it the first few times for you at all? If so, how does it compare? If you're worried at all I would phone and ask about it.

yes they did most of the hospital ones no problem, they injected my leg which i cant reach properly

I would ring them then... just to check cause you shouldn't be in huge amounts of pain.
 
my last heparin was yesterday!!! YES!!!! they hurt me a lot, really stingy for about 10 minutes afterwards. my stomach has soooooo many bruises now! lol

oh, and its 3 weeks yesterday I started the milk diet, and Ive now lost 2 stone!! Whooop!!

Woohoo! That's awesome! Well pleased with that I'm sure! :D

I'm down half a stone since last Sunday. I can't wait to be finished with the heparin. The bruising is not fun. My dressings are starting to itch now, but still two days before I can remove them. :(
 
I'm having doubts today. Totally fed up, still no bm and no desire too, fed up of eating purée food out of a bowl. Really fancy some steamed salmon or grilled chicken on a proper plate with proper veg. Close to tears and thinking OMG what have I done to myself.

I'm already there and I'm only on the liquids! :( But this too shall pass and before long you'll be able to have 'normal'foods again. Chin up!

I'm not even constipated. But been taking dulcoease.
 
On purée diet and taken them for 2 days now. Seeing practice nurse tomorrow for clips to be taken out so will ask her. I dont feel constipated or anything so more my head saying this can't be right

I don't feel constipated either but the nurse scolded me on the phone today saying that since it's been a week I MUST go get something to make me go.

It's one of those things tho isn't it that just 'niggles'...I know when I've been bunged up previously, particularly on VLCD Cambridge I took 2 before bed & had to stay near toilet for abt 1.5hrs xxx
 
I'll try ducolax then tonight.
