3rd December. It's my birthday on the 2nd - nil by mouth! :-( No champagne! Worth it though. This time next week I'll be on clear liquids only. At least I'm not going alone now as my son is coming with me. We're staying at a hotel the night before. Bless him. X

It just made sense really. It's a good hour drive from here and I need to be there for 7am, plus we are out in the middle of nowhere so getting to the station would be a nightmare at 5 in the morning! It would have been rotten sitting in my room alone but now I think we'll probably go for a mooch round the shops. My son will have to go to eat alone though. I think it would be to true to sit there with a glass of water! (Assuming I'm aloud to drink water???) x

yeah i was allowed to have water. i had a meal the night before. Are u on a liquid diet?

No, high protein low carb. It is not too bad really. I've just had chicken curry (home made) and it was enough. Not that I eat rice anyway, but I had 6oz of chicken and z5 tablespoons of veg, (spinach tomatoes and mushrooms) that I cooked in the madras sauce. It was tasty. Hubby ate it, with rice though.

I've had two conflicted instructions about the days before. One says clear fluids for two days and then nil by mouth for 24 hrs prior, the other says clear fluids for one day. Confused.com! Maybe as I'm on food I'll have to have the clear for two days. To make sure any bulk is dispatched! (Eight!) too much information! Lol. X

Your provider is different to mine. I was allowed to eat until midnight the night before my op, then only water up to 6am, then nothing.

24 hours nil by mouth seems a bit extreme, you'll be really dehydrated!

Well, it's Day 2 of mushies, and nothing is going down very well, despite eating it as slowly as possible. Runny Weetabix is still uncomfortable to eat.

I'm trying to eat some cottage cheese at the moment and it's getting stuck even though I'm chewing it to a pulp!

The only thing which was fine, bizarrely, was shepherds pie last night.

I'm sure it will settle down soon. Least I'm a lot less hungry, which is something.

I'll see how it is tomorrow, but I might go back to liquids for a day or so if it doesn't settle soon.

I'm not sliming or PBing anyway.

Both my daughters have trouble eating during the day but come tea time they can eat fine so maybe you will have a similar thing that certain times are difficult to swallow..just a thought :/​

I wonder if the 'weight' of the shepherds helps it go down - Gravity and all that! ( if you know what I mean?) I'm dreading this bit! I've bought a box of Carley's Russ, I loved them when I was a nipper - as you can mash them in milk and make them as thick or runny as need be. Weta is May be a problem as it's bitty. I love it but it starts my IBS off! X

Sooo had my first sliming experience today, that's not pleasant is it?

Stupidly forgot I'm still on mushies and absent-mindedly ate two Mini Cheddars. That didn't go well at all.

Chest pains, lots of slimy saliva and had to go and spit in the toilet. Ewwww.

I had a similar experience last week or the week before, can't remember when now. Deeply unpleasant, and I'm just grateful it didn't happen when I was out.
