My journey starts here..

I was really happy to read your journey as you have the same surgeon as i do..im due for surgery on this thursday:/

I hope you have a similar experience to me Minn (without the fainting haha). You will be very well looked after.

See you on the loser's bench very soon! Don't forget to start your own diary :)

Well it's a week to the day already, and I'm surprised at how well I've been. I'm now feeling like a bit of a skiver, but I suppose it's good to relax and recover fully.

I think later this week I will go back down the gym and do some gentle exercise on the bike and treadmill. Every little helps!

Bander bird!

Am I right in saying u don't have much to loose?

My starting weight isn't as high as some, but I've set myself a tough target of five stone to lose. Realistically I may not make it, but if I can lose and maintain a 4 stone weightloss for the long term I will be happy with that.

11 and a half stone is a decent weight for my height and build, but I'd like to make it to 10 and a half.

You didn't have much to lose did you louloumoo? How are you finding it?

The lightest I recall being is 9.12 after doing LL and loosing 4 stone in 12 weeks (shocking diet)
Since then I have been up down up down... But luckily never got to my heaviest again (other then getting pregnant and doing LL again after baby was born) which was 14 stone, I'm 5.3 and petite build!!
I have a joke with all my friends as I am a different size every time they see me, they ask me if I am nil be mouth, which usually if dieting I was.. (Either nil by mouth or well and truly on the pies!)
So when I started this journey I was 11.12, and now down to 10.8 after 2 fills and nine weeks. I really feel I have done This whilst still eating what I want, just smaller amounts, I don't deprive myself at all.
I understand that people who have lots to loose need to follow a strict diet and the band helps to stick to that, but for me I wanted to see what weight I could settle at eating what and when I wanted!
And so far so good, I am very happy with my weight loss, people r telling me not to loose anymore!! (Ha I'm just at the beginning of my journey)
I got some good effects from my last fill and that has lasted 3 weeks, I'm Defo due a fill now as my hunger is coming right back, but I'm going in a cruise on Thursday so don't want any complications or to be over restricted. Only one incident of sliming to date and no PBing.

If I put weight on so be it, I'm on holiday, as long as it's not a stone it two like it would of been pre band, and I know that I can get my fill on return and loose it again.

I love love love my band, I feel like it has stopped my 14 year diet at last..

I was primed with 4.5 ml, first fill was 0.5ml an second was 1ml, (which worked a treat)
So I have 6ml in a 10ml band and very close to green.

I wish u the luck that I feel I have had.

Lou x

^ sounds ideal! I'm glad it's working so well for you, fingers crossed it does the same for me. I have an empty band at the moment, so I think I will be getting pretty hungry before my first fill at the end of this month. Hope I get a decent few mls to start me off.

I'm the same as you, I just want to end the yo-yo dieting - but I am actually pretty overweight (clinically obese in fact) and need to shift a few stone.

Back to work tomorrow, booooo. It's been nice to have some time off!

Went for a walk on the seafront today which was lovely.

It's going to be tough being on the liquid diet at work but I'm sure I'll manage.

Cold weather = soups!! Just tell people your felling the cold. Nothing better than a bowl of soup. Good luck x

Hey enjoy work. The day will flyxxx drink loads

Hi you... How was work? How is evetything?x

Hi, thanks for asking Slimby50!

All fine thanks, nobody even noticed I'm not eating anything, just drinking.. :)

I took in a fat-free yoghurt, a Slim Fast shake, a smoothie, an Innocent fruit tube and a 0% Actimel to keep me going all day (along with water and herbal tea).

I was starving by 7.30 this evening though and was desperate for my soup. I will be very glad when I can eat again on Tuesday.

Bring on the mushies...

Glad u got on ok. Relax over the weekendx

Glad to hear that your first day back at work went well :) noticed we had the same surgeon, Mr Richardson & must admit smiled when i saw the pic of your post-op cuts the other day as they are identical to mine!

Im a couple of weeks ahead of you so just coming to the end of mushies & onto real food again...excited & nervous! Also off for my first fill on Mon, ready for it too as starting to feel hungry all the time again.

Hope you have a good weekend :)

Thanks otzega. I thought he was a good surgeon (not that I have much to compare with!).

Good luck going back to real food, and good luck for the first fill :)

Have a great weekend too!

ps: we have set ourselves exactly the same weight loss target - let's do it!!

Thanks for the good luck re real food & the fill, been planning what to eat for the last week & have now got a stinking cold so lost my appetite, typical! Lol

Hope your recovery is continuing to go well, looks like youre doing great from what ive read, & yes, really determined to reach my goal weight this time! At my heaviest i was 19 stone & ive lost 6 stone twice before & then put it all back on, & more...thats why i chose the band this time to help me get if off & keep it off, forever hopefully :)

Look forward to sharing this journey with you, so glad to have found somwhere where people understand, its been a lonely old road at times hey xx
