My journey starts here..

I've taken all the dressings off, and all the incisions are healing beautifully.

The port wound is looking pink and healthy, but the most 'raw' of them, so I've put a plaster over it just for today.

I think they will all fully heal OK, they've closed up very well.

There's a little bit of bruising, but it's fading to pretty colours lol

Its only a couple of days ago for me as you know but I cannot see any bruising at all..Yesterday was great today a little sore..But Im amazed how well I feel
I notice you did well too..
I think I might even go for a little stroll tonight see how it go's:D

Its great you were done just before me so I can see your updates and see how its going for you :)

How are you getting along...I notice you said about your first fill How long after surgery does Mr Richardson advise?

Mine is on Oct 28th, so that's just under 5 weeks since my surgery.

I stocked up on mushies today, I can't wait to get started on them on Tues. Mmmmm cottage cheese..

Wow that's great - no bruises! Mine are still fading.

I'm absolutely fine, pretty much back to normal - I'm just finding that the liquids aren't filling me up for long now.

Oxtail soup tonight..

lol..SNAP!!!! I had Oxtail tonight..
sadly Graham made me Leek and Potato soup blended it but it was far to slimy and I couldn't eat it :/

Last day of liquids, done! Had tomato soup to finish up. I think I've had enough of soup for a while lol

It's not been that bad actually, but I can't wait for mushies.

Mmmm Weetabix!

Haha, overcooked broccoli with soft cheese - yum! I loved the savouriness of mushies after so many weeks of milk and slimfast and soup. Poached smoked haddock flaked into mashed carrot and swede... Lush!
Enjoy it:)

I never thought I'd crave corned beef hash, but after three weeks of milk and two weeks of liquids, anything I could eat was a complete joy! You'll be there soon Val, honest!:)

It seems like forever at the time! But soon passes, glad to hear you are able to enjoy mushies now.

I had my first fill today which went really well but now back on liquids then mushies for 24 hrs each, booooo

It was much easier & quicker than i expected, nurse found my port easily & didnt feel a thing :)

Cant believe how quickly the time is passing, soon be your turn & then Minn so be interesting to see how you both get on xx

Glad your first fill went well, it's good to hear as I don't really know what to expect..

I've got a few more weeks to wait though.

Do you feel any different?

Thanks & hmmm, hard to explain... it does feel different but not in the way i imagined. Im not hungry, which is cool as my appetite had really come back, just had a half mug of soup & had to sip it slowly & now feel fullish & very gurgly, prob tmi but have awful wind...my poor partner! Should prob go sleep in the spare room lol

Ive read other people saying sometimes it takes a while before you feel the effect of a fill? so will let you know once im past 48 hrs liquids & mush stage. Im hoping the difference will be fully felt once im back on more solid food

In the meantime enjoy your mushies, jealous! :)

How are you doing today Bandergirl..How is work going
Are you feeling well
Try not to overdo it and enjoy those mushies :)

All good thanks!

Work is fine thank you, no dramas, just getting very peckish in the afternoons.

It's been a slow start to mushies today. Had a Weetabix with loads of skimmed milk for breakfast. Wanted to hoover it down but I could feel it getting stuck so had to eat it slowly.

I guess the healing inside takes time, hence the special diet.

Had a pre-booked call from the dietician this morning, she was great and talked me through everything.

I was a bit stumped on lunch as I eat at my desk. I had one more Slim Fast to finish so I took that and had an Actimel/smoothie/fruit tube/yoghurt through the day as usual. I need to think of something mushy I can easily eat in the office.

Anyway tea was YUM. A 2-egg cheese omelette. I was so hungry but forced myself to eat it slowly, and now I don't want anything else.

I really do think Actimel is what's 'keeping me moving', I've had no problems at all there.

Nothing else to report! Scars have healed over now, so I'll be getting the Bio-oil onto them. One has virtually vanished already. I've still got two bruises which are taking their time to disappear though.

OMG..what Id do for an omelette!!!!!!

Trust me, after two weeks of liquids it was like a Michelin-star gourmet feast.

lol..you never know one day we might get to sit down and have that Gourmet meal;)
