My Journey....

I couldn't have toast with my band or anything similar, wraps, scones, pitta, etc. haven't had a slice of toast since April 2012  it's all trial and error, we are all different in this area. When you try (and I have) a small bite, wait, small bite. Come back another day and assuming you are not writhing in agony from before try another small bite. Just don't over do it ;) hope you can do it, I will be jealous ;)

Oh I was just told 2 weeks liquids and 2 weeks Mushies..is it different for you then? Crazy isn't it..I would love to start mushies on Friday but it will only be a week and a day

Yes I know a few people that have to do two weeks liquids, for me it's 1 week liquids 2-3 weeks mushies 1 week soft

I suppose I could start mushies on Thursday but I'm enjoying liquids I'm not hungry and feel good, I don't want to rush it.

Oh My, well if not toast I will try some crackers maybe Melba Toast, not quite the same but better than liquids

I will update you :)

I was ok with ryveta and Melba toast. But either plain or with marmite, nothing like dairylee on it.... that didn't have good results. It's completely trial and error, but take it slow, no hurry ;)

Glad it's going well Val. I got so sick of soups, but I couldn't think what else to have for tea..

Hope you have a lovely weekend away xx

Thanx Sweetie..I know what you mean about soups the only 2 I like is Oxtail and Tomato
Loved it with a little cheese in though :)

I loved cheese in my soup, with a splash of Worcestershire sauce. Yum!

Good Morning
Any ideas what I can have for Liquids Breakfast..cant face shakes Gone off tomato juice..really don't know what to have ???

Well its a whole week since my surgery today..
I feel fine
The only thing negative I do sort of feel depleted, for example I want to get up and go and my mind has all sorts of plans but actually doing them is a different matter..

I simply have no energy any tips???

Milky coffee's were my saviour! (Good for protein intake too)

Minn, have you got a juicer? If so I can give you some ideas, if not you could think about getting one as we banders have to keep going back to liquids after every fill.

Ideas for liquid
~ actimel yoghurts (also good for constipation issues!)
~ milky coffee
~ use options hot chocolate and make with skimmed milk - very filling, hits a sweet spot and low in cals (various flavours, mint, orange, coconut, and my fave White choc!)
~ fruit juices
~ smoothies add in berries and skimmed milk powder for protein
~ vegetable juice
~ oxo/bovril

Hi

Its normal to feel tired in the early days. Its a combination of the op recovery and eating less.

The trick is to make sure you have something if you do feel hungry, to keep your energy stoked up!

I love the liquid stage because I love soups, shakes etc. Other things I had were:

Fruit smoothies
Yoghurt drinks - actimal etc
Milky coffee
Options hot chocolate
Ready made slim fast

Can't think of anything else lol but I'll get back to you if I do xx
