Thanks for that. I'll make sure it's all mushy before I eat! Which I find very difficult to chew haha!

We're you recommended to do it from day 4? That makes me feel a tad better!

I lost 9 preop! Then 6 first week post op! Have to wait till next thur to find out this week! Xx

So just weighed in. This is my way of being accountable. So, thank you all for being out there!!!!

11lb loss since my op

9lb lost pre-op

7lb lost pre-pre-op

Total loss 27lbs :0)

good luck tb. ive been trying not to post to much on here coz I moan all the time! so just been putting all my moans on my diary. x

I now what you mean but i find it helpful to know others are going through crap too. Does that make a sad do? Probably ;0)

My moan is that I'm thoroughly sick and tired of wind pain. Day 10 post op for me and it still hurts! Anyone know when it should be gone?

Morning all. It has suddenly gone very quiet on here. Sharona where are you? Are you ok? Well it looks like I am next up. I have very mixed feelings about things as I expressed earlier. I am sure when I get to Tuesday night the enormity will hit me. I really need to sort myself out in terms of packing a bag for the hospital. I took far too much with me when I had my first surgery four years ago, so I will take the bare minimum this time. I hope everyone is coping both pre and post op. TBx

Hi tb, I think anxiety is normal. I know I was all over the place pre-op. If we weren't anxious we should be worried! Our anxiety is just there to help us make sure we're doing the right thing.

fab weight loss

no I was told liquid for 2 weeks.but I just cudnt do it. I dont drink protien shakes etc so was hardly able to eat anything and felt awful. so ivw been living off mainly mash and gravy etc and sugarfree jelly. but I know ive slipped up with the odd bite of solids here and there.I know its bad but I cabt change what ive done. x

Hi ladies been hesitant to post surgery is so close but I've been reading anti banding posts on the board and its filled me with fear terrible fear :(

It must be hard if you've been banded and not filled to stick to the liquid etc. with a sleeve they've cut through ye stomach and it hurts to take in anything so stops you eating. When do you have a fill?

I think yr absolutely right about not dwelling on small slips. This is for life, the long term results are the important ones not what happens once in a blue moon. We are just human after all

Does it make you feel better if I say I could have written this? I'm meant to do 2 weeks liquid too ha fail!

And i too have eaten some solids just really really chewed. Glad I'm not the only one!! Xx

Gweni, don't be afraid, today is my first time of feeling normal, and I'm now five days after op. It's the CO2 they pump you with that is painful, but if you are aware that it is that and it will go away, it some how makes it more bearable. I read up yesterday on laparoscopy in general and it is the by product of being operated on

I second this!
I can't continue to punish myself and ruin it all everytime I have a small slip! If I do I will never get control over this!!
We're all human we all have an addiction to food and we all want to improve.

Xx

Arrgh keyboard disappeared from iPad before I could finish the sermon!

Please don't be put off but use this forum as support through those initial days.... And beyond of course. You'll be fine xxx

This is right I got through the pain knowing it wasn't the incisions it was the wind and this has to go!!! :) and it does!!! Xx

Plus there are always negative posts about anything, it's a tool and it needs work and commitment which any weight loss surgery requires, don't be put off xx

Absolutely. And although the wind was awful. I don't regret it! X

Hi Sharona, I'm from Sutton Coldfield near Birmingham - just spotted on your profile bio down the side that you are west midlands...where abouts?? I went through Healthier Weight for the surgery and as I had the sleeve I went up to Spire Manchester for the operation - not far from Old Trafford (I was offered Manchester or Southampton for the sleeve as both are centres of excellence). I might not be able to accept PM's at the moment as I've not reached 50 posts yet so that could be why...
Oh not far from me then im south . You went far to have your op. Could you not get it done at the Priory Birmingham ? Or I was it too expensive.
I see your suffering from constipation i really feel fir you ! I gave been constipated for 3 wks now . I put another a thread on here called "Constipation" as i was so in pain still suffering. Just dreading this after op. I found ortisan fruit cubes there soft from Holland Barrett ok. Movical from docs didn't work . Glycerin suppositories help also picked up dulcolax from £ shop. Very good best wishes x

So tomorrow, being Saturday, is my usual weighing day (when I'm not obsessing and weighing everyday!) so I thought I'd share it with you and see if anyone else wanted to join in. We're all either post-op or on LSD so perhaps it's a good time? So, first official weigh-in for me tomorrow :0)
Hi hun thanks for that . Im going to start countdown after my op as at moment trying to lose this5-10% for op. So of course i join you all then. However since joining the bariatric services 4 yrs ago i have lost nearly 3 stone at my largest. And have been up and down the scales i dont know how many times. Its been a long struggle but getting there . X

im so glad im not the only one mizkirsty. Ive read so many people sticking to it and I realy have been super down about it.tbh ive been worried my depression was coming back, as I feel a failiure. I enjoyed the lil bits I had and was not in pain at all and just a bite or 2 did fill me up.im finding that the portion size I was having (same as my 13month old) is not dilling me up and I end up wanting to snack. then with no weight loss im worried im eatong too much.but its defo less than before op. grh soz grumpy jess x

Well here I am again haven't been hiding Tranquil butterfly just finishing off at work and getting my staff organised before I go on sick leave I have today , tomorrow early and Tuesday late before I break up.

Tranquil butterfly......... 26th Nov (sleeve)
Gweni.......................26th Nov(band)
ICAWM ...................26th Nov(bypass)
Sharona(me)..............27th Nov( bypass)

Three of you all on the same day Wednesday and myself last on the Thursday. Im wishing everybody a great weekend and for those of counting down the hours Im wishing everyone successful op and recovery.(also to all those gone before who are still recovering this month).
I my self am very apprehensive about my after care recovery mainly also my liver situ however don't just want to moan about all the negative things ( you have or are going through similar feelings thought so I know most will understand).
All the best NOVEMBER people and our next goal will be "weigh ins "as Maggie has said. We can encourage one another to be successful with using the tool we had been or going to be given. Best wishes Sharona xx
