And so it begins...Kirsty's journey to a sleeve!!

Well day 6 of my milk diet done still going strong. Its been much easier than i expected an its taken the anxiety away from doing it for real. There is probably 1 hour a day where it feels like torture usually at night but other than that im ok. Today is first day iv not had that feeling of torture tho. Im expecting the weekend to b more difficult but i will stick with it. Iv been a little constipated last 2 days, iv had more head aches than usual and a nasty taste in my mouth but thats about as bad as its got. Tomorrow is my weigh in day so im eager to see how much i will have lost after 6 days of milk and yogurts not forgetting the bovril which has been my life saver.

Kirsty xx

You are doing so well Kirsty, it will be so worth it when you weigh in and hopefully you will have reached the magic target you need before your hospital visit. I agree Bovril is a lifesaver I have mine at tea time. Re the constipation I've also had problems mentioned it to the dietician and she advised laxative and suppositories if necessary. It worked so don't suffer my headache disappeared afterwards.

Well after 6 days of milk diet i have lost 6lb very happy with that. Just 3lb left to lose to hit my target and a week to do it. Im confident i will do it.

Thanks lin im actually quite proud of how serious iv taken this trial and the results are great. One week today till my next hospital appointment.

You've done so well Kirsty.

There's no way I could do it without the knowledge that I had to for surgery.

Well done..!

You're definitely going to blast through your target..!

Thanks claire your sugery is any day now isnt it? They way i look at it is that if i dont hit my target i might not get the chamce to do this for surgery. Its not been too bad at all. Lots of head aches but i suffer with head aches anyway. Day 8 today and still going strong. Need to lose at least 3lb by friday. Im glad your op is almost here you've waited long enough.

Tuesday wow bet thats such a great feeling knowing its happening now. I hope they are impressed with my weight loss and i hope it speeds up my journey as my target weight loss and the psychiatrist are the only things standing between me and surgery. 6 days till im back at hospital im so ready for this now tho.

Looking forward to hearing all about tuesday and good luck.

Day 9 still going strong. Suffering with migraine today and feeling quite faint and dizzy. Cant wait for friday get to weigh myself and got my hospital appointment at 10am which hopefully takes me 1 step closer to my sleeve. Lost almost 2 stone now thats the most iv lost in a long time and in keeping it off and still losing. Im hoping to lose another stone pre op that will leave me with 5 stone to lose post op with the sleeve which i think is achieveable.

Day 10 of my trial milk diet and for some reason today im really tired and really feeling the hunger. Worst its been since the early days. On the plus side its only 4 days to my next appointment. Need to continue to stay strong and hope i reach my target.

Well tomorrow is my appointment at walsall manor with the psychiatrist. Im hoping he give me the go ahead and sees that im prepared and commited to the surgery and life post op. Iv changed my lifestyle done a 2 weeks pracrice milk diet and fingers crossed hit my weight loss target. I dont know what more i could of done to prepare myself for the journey ahead of me so iv jus gotta hope he is happy with me. If i isn't and wants to see me again that will add months onto my journey and i will b gutted. I cant see a reason for him not to pass me off but at the same time im telling myself it might not go well. Think is cuz im scared and its my way of preparing myself for failing. I need to have more faith in myself. Any last minute advice from u guys would b great especially from people who have actually seen mr kendrick at walsall manor.

Thanks lisa how are you. Love the perm by the way xx

Thanks Hun.

I'm feeling ok but have been suffering from severe acid reflux. It didn't rear its ugly head until I was about eight weeks post op. I think that was because I wasn't getting a lot in and when I started eating a bit more the reflux started. I have tried lots of different medications but they just make me nauseas and don't stop it in any event.

Anyway, to cut a long story short, my consultant has said that if it doesn't go by itself, then I will need another op. Either an acid reflux procedure, which would involve tightening my valve, or as a last resort a gastric bypass.

Hopefully it will go by itself.

Oh dear thats not good. Is that something thats common with a sleeve i always thought that was more likely with a bypass. Did he explain how converting to a bypass would solve the problem.

Same here. Also ... If he does nothing about it what would happen in the long term?

Am I right in assuming you're having to pay for a further surgery now?
