Gastric Balloon Any ballooners out there? Support needed!

Went into work this morning and my coworker Mohammed looked at me and asked what I've done. I told him a lot of dieting and exercise. His reply, "You look hot!" :D

Just running some errands, and I've lost almost my whole wardrobe to one of my coworkers, so swung by Next and got 3 dresses, two size 14's and one size 12! The 12 is super tight and gives me armpit fat, but I got it for motivation. My goal is to be a fit and toned 12! Happy weekend!

WTG!!! Neisie you have done tremendously well and you must be well proud...size 12 :wow:

Thanks, Frankie! I'm totally NOT a size 12, at all, but my trainer wanted me to get a dress in the next size down as motivation. I could get it on but it looked like I stuffed 10 lbs of sh*t into a 5 lb bag :p I was stuffing my armpit fat back into the dress! Haha! But, I'm getting close to goal, about 25 more lbs and one more dress size. Fingers crossed that I get there!

Well done Neisie! You look fabulous. Kismet you are looking gorgeous!

Thanks for all your advice regarding my predicament.

My balloon is tmw so naturally nervous and anxious. It's at 10AM. Been told to be nill by mouth by 12AM.

Any advice for the journey to and back?
I've got my water bottle, hand fan, pillow, stocked up on ice, water and ice lollies as instructed.

And just had my last meal a salmon salad. As I was told to have a light meal.

Woo hoo good luck banana. Just keep up the fluids and follow the instructions you are given xx

Good luck! I highly recommend drinking by a small spoon. It's just a bit at a time so you can control it. Don't rush the food. Ease back in with yogurt, Yakult, etc. You'll do fine. The first few days suck, but it gets better. Bring a book/iPad to the hospital. I also brought headphones for recovery - hate hearing other people in pain, freaks me out.

Thanks ladies. I hope my body accepts the balloon. Read some terrifying stuff. Trying to keep my mind off it. Btw were any of you on your period for balloon insertion? I've been told it's no problem but I'm just aching in pain already! Hope it passes quickly the p pain is so annoying. I'm not due to stay in hospital long they said I should be out within 3 hours hopefully.

I have wanted it for age's but have had to wait until hubby got a passport then I started a new job and wanted to settle in I also have four kids so need to get them looked after for the weekend. I'm going on fro and returning on sun I'm back to work on mon and I'm worried about this if I wait and get it on my week off in April I'm afraid I'll be still big all summer really want to enjoy wearing clothes this summer.

Good luck ladies to you both :) just stick to the rules and you will be fine. My experience wasn't a good one at all but having seven stone to lose I needed it to be in there for the full term to progress on to my bypass... I achieved that :). Nearly five stone with it in and three+ stone on the run up to it going in. I suffered terrible reflux 24/7 and the only relief was to keep my diet as bland as possible and no fruit or veggies and a regular prescription of lanzaprole ;). My balloon wouldn't let a lot of things go past it! All to do with my weird anatomy apparently hahaha Everyone's experience is different but the Spatz type seems to be the better way to go unfortunately in my case the NHS doesn't provide them (cost) and it's the Orbera balloon or nothing :( I hope they rethink that one ;). Good Luck!

You will be just fine hun for me the procedure was quick and easy ..I was lightly sedated but expect to feel quite a bit rough for a few days as your tummy tries to get used to the alien thing that's been put in there ;) xx
