BANDERS UNITE ! Get to know each other chatter !

I guess leafy veg can be pretty dense, that's one reason I have a lot of cabbage as it's really low calorie , full of good stuff and very filling! Much better to be filling up on your greens than starchy carbs though so well done!

Evening all. Survived another day at work but it was another long day again - not long got home. I cannot go on like this or I am going to end up poorly.

I really struggled this morning with the break between liquids and food so was late. Anyway today's intake:

Actimel
2 cups of coffee
Water - not enough - struggling with this
Fish sticks, salad and a bit of low fat mayo

I will be having chicken with vegetables for my evening meal in about half an hour.

I did a lot of walking today as I had to go to meetings over at our other office. My ankles and legs are like balloons due to the water retention.

I managed to speak to the bariatric nurse and she said as long as I do not develop pain, struggle with fluids or going to the toilet to wait until I see them on the 18th to look at my lump.

Rache I hope your dog is ok. Neen it looks like you have a busy week! Hope your son feels better soon. Mazza hope you enjoy your trip up North.

Hope everyone else is ok.

tranquil x

Hi All

Hope you are having a good day today. I have my appointment confirmed with the Consultant's team on Thursday. I had been worrying over the weekend as I haven't had a letter through from them yet so this morning I rang the consultant's secretary and it turns out she forgot to action it and they had marked me as DNA for last week.

I'm so glad I rang as she was able to sort it and I definitely have an appointment for this Thursday at 2.15. So hopefully I will know more then.

Not got my eating under control yet - but you lot are so welcoming that I am going to keep visiting here until (and after) a I do.

Have a good evening everyone.

Hello TB xxx I feel for you with the ankle thing, mine still puff up now and then but at my heaviest I was in agony walking for more than a few minutes. I'm glad to read that you double checked about the lump as you have more than enough to deal with as it is. Just keep an eye on it x Just think, anything you manage to lose right now is going to make you feel better x

Hi Weeble xxx It's great to see you on here again and I certainly hope you do keep coming and posting because one day soon, things might just click and you will be ready.
Specially if we get some regular losses going. I am pleased and relieved that you checked on whats going on with your provider, thank heavens you did eh?
I think that's a good reminder to all of us to chase things up if we are struggling isn't it?
If there is anything I can do to help you get your head in the right place to make a start, please let me know.
I have some hypnosis stuff etc that might be worth a go so if you want to try something this week, be it the hypnosis or maybe one action you could do each day, then don't be afraid to ask.
There's no point in postponing getting slimmer any more, and I know you don't believe me at the moment, but I know you have in you to get some pounds off right now x

Neen you are so right about keeping in touch with your team. Unfortunately not all the NHS providers are good at delivering the after care which is so vital with a band. Mine is notorious as far as after care is concerned for both bypassers and bands. So far they have responded when I have made contact but the only reason I think that they do is because of the complaint I lodged. They may of course, in time, prove me wrong:D.

Weeble it sounds like you have had a rough time - I hope it gets sorted.

Evening fellow banders. I had a lovely weekend and didn't bother counting calories - I'm giving myself the weekend off! Still think I made some good choices though but more importantly I enjoyed it!

Hubby is away for a few days as of Saturday morning and last night my little basket of a cat brought a live mouse in and then let it go in the bedroom! So here's me, home alone with a mouse running around the bedroom all night! I think I only got 2 hours sleep last night so I am turning in shortly. Thankfully when I came home from work today the mouse was no more....
Calorie wise today, I've had just under 1200. With Steve being away I haven't bothered cooking as such but still making sure I'm eating enough too. Tonight I had a toasted pitta bread with some low fat pate and it was delish!
I'm off to bed now - night all x

Hi i am being banded on the 11/03/11, and i have been reading lots of pro and cons, i am hoping i will reach my goalin the next two years.

Welcome Janet xx

Hi everyone, Im tired too - its catching!

I have driven up to Darlington this morning which is where I am now. It was a lovely drive but also a long way ;)

Rache I hope your little dog is ok

I ma working away until at least Thursday, so although I get breakfast at the hotel the rest of my meals will be as and when :(

The hotel has a nice swimming pool though so I plan to use that maybe not tonight but Tues and Wednesday. I did a lot of walking yesterday 3 miles in 45 minutes, then a long hilly walk with the dogs (dont know how far - but also 45 minutes) my legs are aching a bit!

Hope your son gets better soon Neen.
xxx

Thanks Maz..... enjoy your time away. I'd be in that pool too :)

Hi

I only just had my band two days ago and from looking through this site I'm starting to think it's sometimes not as successful as I had thought, is this true?

Welcome and Nooooooooooo :)
We are the tortoise in the hare and the tortoise race, we get there in the end just not as fast as the bypassers. :)
Welcome to the losers bench xxx

I could not believe i only ate 4 sprouts they weren't going down well at all and i really love em

Hi Kevin

I find that with sprouts too, have to eat them reeeeeeally slowly. I lurve them so am still tempted to eat way more than I really should. Tight pouch soon stops me tho!! :)

Def agree with Neen re the exercise, early days my body soon let me know if I had overdone it.xx

Well I've been to the vets with the little hairy fluff and she is a sorry state :(
She was screaming at the vet so she had to get a muzzle in the end as she wanted to go for her (not in her nature at all, I guess the fright and pain were too much)
She suspects she's twisted something in her right hip. If not then she thinks it's the beginning of arthritis.
Bless her she gave her a double dose of some strong painkiller injections and she's been spaced out ever since.
Just got to see how she's doing in the morning.
Fingers crossed :)

Well I've had an activia low fat yoghurt and 3 digestives (oops, finished off the packet)
another litre of squash and 4 more coffees

Tea was fish pie and leeks and carrots (yum)

Had half a serving of Neens slimfast tip (shared with daughter) to stave the evening munchies. It really works!!
One glass fills me up loads.

Reckoning all my grub today must take me to approx 1200cals.

See y'all tomorrow :) xx

Aw Rache , I'm so sorry to hear how poorly the dog is :( Must have been so awful but I hope that she's comfortable now and will get better very soon, poor thing x

You're doing great with your food and exercise hun and inspiring me to stick to my plan too ! Got to try and get exercising today as my son is Ok sitting with his Dad in the daytime and Dean is off for the rest of the week.
I know I will regret it if I don't try and fit at least 10 minutes strolling in...usually I like it once I start going.
As always, making that first move is the hardest bit...then it's usually not as bad as we expect it to be is it.
I love walking on the treadmill with my ipod blasting through the headphones at me...just visualising wearing little jeans and nice girlie summer tops etc....can't wait!!!!

Aw I hope the dog is ok Rach, I hate to hear of the poor little thing suffering!
You just reminded me about fish pie :D I havnt had it for ages and I enjoyed it so much Ill have to get one for dinner one night this week!
Good Luck with the exercising Nina :D XX

You and me both hun lol.....Im doing as much as I can really (very limited mobility!) small hand weights and those stretchy resistance bands etc but I wish I could do more as Im sure it would help with the losses.......we can only do outr best though and who knows we might be strutting our stuff in the sunshine this summer ;) XX
