BANDERS UNITE ! Get to know each other chatter !

Candy I think your pain sounds a bit extreme to just be after fill discomfort..I know we are all different with how we tolerate fills and I also agree with Liz that you should get it checked out with your team.
They were probably trying to help as you were scared you were eating too much before by giving you a large amount but perhaps it's too much of a shock for your system.
Are you sure the shoulder pain is related ?
Shouldn't be wind pain after a fill as you have had saline injected rather than your stomach inflated with gas which is what cause the wind pain after surgery. At least that's what I have been told anyway.
Get hold of your team and take those painkillers as well as being in pain is going to make you more stressed and that in turn will make everything feel tighter.

update: Ruee finally got back to me, and requested i return back to heartlands, warl:10, SAU...told me to expect a long wait as its on a first come first serve basis, i explained im some 2 hours away drive from the hospital and cannot drive myself because ive now taken morphine, the only thing which as helped me; my friend as just phoned me with excauses that they are going out for a family meal tonight so ive not got no transport to Birmingham....how ever, the pain as subsided a little, but im scared it will come back, im also scared in case my band is too tight and causes internal problems....
im going to sit tight at home and see what happens, i dont seem to have any other choice right now...although everyone ive spoken to so far as said it was alot for a 1st fill that i need a few mills taken out then topped back up in about 6/8 weeks time to give my body time to adjust....different people say different things and i know everyones body is different.....
neen: the pain in my shoulder must be band related as ive only had it since i had the band fitted...usually after ive eaten too much, but even drinking now is causing the pain, so i,ll keep sipping slowly and see how it goes

How are you bearing up Candy?
I hope that the team have gotten back to you already and I am glad you have some pain meds xxx
I think it seems likely that your body is reeling a bit from having such a drastic change...I am hoping that's the case because it should settle down in a day or two, especially if you do have a couple mil back out again.
Just wanted to send my love and hopefully you get some decent rest and feel better tomorrow x

well, ive managed a cup of warm tea, without pain...
once the painkillers wore off, the pain in my shoulder started again the minuite i had a drink, and my stomache is still rumbling for food....but at least ive had another drink..seems i can tolerate warm drinks very slowely but nothing cold at the moment....
thankyou to everyone for support and advice.....
im going to take it eay over the weekend, not push myself and wait too see how i progress next week....

I'm inclined to agree with Neen. Clear soups for now. Milky drinks for calories and protein. Hope you feel better soon flower xx

Hi Sarah x That's what me and Dean have been having all week for lunch. They are filling when you have your band in. I had philly mixed with tuna and philly and light choices ham on mine.
I am beat today, I blitzed the garage and even hoovered it , and we took our sons high sleeper bed down and put up a new one.
I spent most of the afternoon making homemade pizzas and I am bushed now, so while Dean is watching the darts and the kids are playing their nintendos, I am having a beer and probably going to play one of my dippy dash games or world of warcraft.

well, im starting to feel fine
against all advice, ive had a tablespoon of really mushy mash and musy peas....i just had to feel food....plus i needed some cards as my sugar levels started to drop below 4.....i feel really full and satasified and im in no pain....have been to my god sons 2nd birthday party, first time ever ive been in a wacky warehouse and drunk latte instead of coke or wine, im so proud of myself.....
all being well, im on the mend...and i can definatly feel restriction now, so hopefully the weight should start to slowly drop off....
night all, hot bath, x factor and an early night.....xxx

Morning Fellow Banders x Got a question for anyone who knows the answer LoL - Since I had my band fill on friday I not felt hungry - Is that normal??? As I felt hunger when I had first fill and op but this time around no hunger pangs as yet, Not had any problems keeping fluids/soups etc down (due to move to mushies tomorrow) Thanks in advance for reading. Will post this in main forum incase no one see's it here , Hope u all have a lovely day - Julie xx

evening all...
well ive had a much better day, still getting a little twinge in my shoulder, but otherwise im feeling good - and full of energy
i now know i have a band, not feeling hungry much and even when i do eat i have the full feeling very quickly...i now need to learn to push food away
i have been out xmas shopping today and on the way home my friends wanted to stop off for a carvery....lucky them
its the first time ive ever been in a pub to eat and had a childs plate....had mashed potatoe, mashed swede and loads of gravy....couldnt eat it all and left what i didnt want as soon as i started to feel full...this is a major step forward for me as im a cumpulsive eater, i eat food just for the sake of eating it....but not today, so i see this as a step in the right direction and a start to the new me, a new life with food.....eating the right things, the right amounts...and making sure i dont eat too much - so different to last sunday when i had a 3 course lunch for my sunday roast....im starting to feel so much better in myself, and i know i can do this thanks to all the help & support from this site....so i just want to say a big thankyou to everyone who as helped me over the last few days when i was seriously worried the band was not for me...thx everyone....i will get their in the end i know i will

morning ladies

hope everyones doing well. Im being really rubbish at the moment, no effort put it AT ALL and im really struggling getting back in the right frame of mind. I have still (even though i dont deserve to) lost weight. i think thats down to my portion sizes really being dramatically reduced. ive been eating the wrong things though, only been to the gym once in 2 weeks, and been eating chocolate & pringles....not in huge amounts, but still been eating them.
Im off to the gym this morning anyway, im gonna drop alex off at nursery then head up there. I know if i force myself to go to the gym (which is stupid because when im there, i really enjoy myself) that the rest will come with it diet wise. my other half thinks im being too hard on myself, because ive worked loads of the past 2 weeks & not had much time for anything else. i know ive got to be strict with myself though because this is the downwards spiral ive been in, in every other diet ive ever done.
i get to the 3/4 stone mark & then i stop trying, slowly gain the weight again. i see all the signs so quickly because ive had them loads of time before.

Anyway, Im going to stop talking about myself so much now. Im always complaining about something :)

Just one last one though! haha
You know what I miss, SALAD. Ive always loved a good salad, and I just can not stomach one any more..it make me vomit..usually lettuce. even if i put a low fat dressing on, one tiny well chewed mouthful gets stuck & makes me sick. My providers said its a common thing with lettuce/salad..does anyone else get that here?

Hey all!

Well im back as such.. :p

Feeling okay, the tugging has calmed down and my appetite seems clearer, so i think the swelling is subsiding..

My stitches are very neat aswell, im impressed!

Perhaps im doing a little too much around the house, as in i helped with the sunday dinner and put some shopping away.. but believe me.. i knew my limit!

I hope your all doing fabulously, you look it.. ;)

Marie x

Hi girls xxx I'm sorry I'm not officially about yet but I have both kids home feeling very poorly x
I will try and catch up with all the posts and reply later this evening if I can.
Just quickly will say, Candy I am glad things have improved a bit hun and of course we will get you losing x
Em, I have pringles and choc every Saturday and the trick is not to feel guilty about it if it's a once in a while treat...it's the guilt that will take you off the rails, not the odd treat x
I hope you get to the gym as I know you enjoy it but don't start obsessing about the food as you said it yourself, you will be back in the old pattern. You have to outsmart it this time and not allow yourself to brood over a food slip. Just start afresh ...also maybe try shredding the lettuce finely first so it doesn't bind too much?
xxxx See you later x

Aww I hope the kids feel better soon Nina, loads of little ones seem to be getting bugs at the moment! Take care of you too hun XX

Hi Neen, hoping the children are soon feeling better and love to you... thinking of you all...

Em... glad to hear you are still losing precious... that's an achievement in itself, so you have to be doing something right!

Love and hugs to all and keep warm everyone xxx
