BANDERS UNITE ! Get to know each other chatter !

Hey everyone! Sorry it's been a bit since my last post. :(

I am so happy because tonight I got to start on Phase 2 (soft liquids) of my diet. We celebrated and went to iHop ( international house of pancakes) where I had a scrambled egg, few bites of oats, and some grits! Amazed me how little I was able to eat and how content I was with what I had. :D I probably had about 2 bites more than I should have because as it's settled I feel a little yucky but not too bad for a first eating experience.

Other big news: I've officially lost 10 lbs since surgery which brings me to t total of 30 lbs!!!!!! SO HAPPY!!!!

For Christmas my Mom had bought me a coat that was too small but not so small that it'd discourage me. Well, today I got to wear it for the first time! Zipped it and everything!! Needless to say, its been a good day. :)

Hope you've had a good day too!

I'm so glad to see you back Kelly! All done as well ! Hope you are managing OK.
I'm sorry I haven't been about much all, had my sons ill this week and one still at home off school.
Got on OK at the opticians...I still look like a little barrel but not the biggest bowling down the street anymore. That doesn't half boost my confidence !

I am trying to follow an eating plan, sort of know the calories I'm having with what I have chosen so hopefully will not have to resort to writing it all down again.

What's everyone's New Year health job then? eg one or two things you can easily manage consistantly that will help you lose weight and feel better.
Mine are to walk 45 minutes a day and drink 3 to 4 litres of water daily. Oh and not eat after 8pm.
I think small tweaks , not extremes, get good results.

Hiya neen, i am doing well thank you, op wasn't as bad as i thought it was going to be.....fed up of liquids tho..it's put me off soup big time;). Hope your sons are feeling beta too xx

Well one week post op today..how fast has that gone and 15.11:D. Can't grumble at that can i. I have to say i am wishing the next few weeks away as i am so fed up of soup....i'd just love some food not even anything majorly bad just a simple sandwich or a jacket spud....mmmmm yummmm. Oh well not too long..will give me something to look forward to when i'm on the mash fortnight.

Slow cookers..i love mine:D best thing i ever got! I do lots in mine chilli, curry, casseroles, slow cooked brisket of beef falls apart much nicer than roast for me. I do a lamb dish in a tomatoey sauce that's just luuurrvly..drooling now...better shut up now talking about all this food and 3 weeks left on liquids is not good :p.

I really need to up my water intake i'm not drinking any at all.....have a bottle by my side now so shall sip away all day.

Anyway i better go i have an afro to fluff up before he can go to school and it's huuuggeee:eek: xxx

Did any of you see Shaw Summers on Day Break 'trying' to get his point of view across that its not as simple as eat less move more for some - hence having a gastric band. I say trying because Clair Nasir (with no job) kept bleating on about how she had done it by exercising and would have loved a 'quick fix' ie a band but decided to do it the convential way. Ie getting paid loads of money to do it! GRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!

I agree she was overweight for a while and then suddenly she finds the will power to shift it all in 4 months!! nothing to do with magazine deals and exercise dvd and ££££'s she has been paid!! maybe if we all had such motivators we'd do it to but the big catch will she be able to keep it off?? me thinks not!! they never do:)

Exactly!

How much did she loose aswell......probably a stone or two. I wonder how mant times all of us have lost 1-2 stone only to put them back on again and again. The hard part is keeping it off, lets see how well she does! Silly moo...id love for someone like her to have to wear a fat suit weighing 10 stone for a month....see how hard it is. I bet she wouldnt have managed to get rid of 10 stone the "proper" way and keep it off...gggrrrrrr these small minded people make me mad............can you tell? ;) XX

Morning all. It seems fat-ism - is there such a word - is the new discrimination. Everywhere you look, papers, radio, TV there is a lot of fat bashing going on. I do not get it - why are fat people being scapegoated in this way? Fat people are not responsible for the state of the economy, the poor NHS or anything else that is wrong but you would think so. Like I said I just do not get it. Perhaps we are a soft target?

tranquil

I think you hit the nail on the head there TB, we seem to be a soft target because unlike other forms of prejudice there are no laws to protect fat people from being the newest "ism" to poke a stick at! For years we have been tormented for being fat and now there might finally be an answer to our weight issues we get hammered by the majority for wanting to grasp it! Totally unfair....would the media be allowed to say the same things about disabled people or black people as they say about fat people? I dont think so! XX

hiya

Did u read in the sun newspaper about that today , they class someone with a bmi of over 26.9 as seriously overweight.................. Bl**dy Nora...........

Been reading the comments, usual comments coming through, about how lazy we are, we dont give a damn about ourselves, and we sit on our a**es all day and just go too the pub, and we have no self respect................One thing I gotta say too the ppl who commented in the sun, I dont care what ppl think of me , what I think of me is wot counts, so go and do one and educate yourself lmao xxxxx

Marie, I got my letter today but I have been given 18 March for my next appointment. I rang and was told the 11 March clinic is full and that if I have to be seen on 11 March I have to contact Lesley Hannon. As usual when you ring the number it rings out without being answered. I will try again tomorrow but I am not holding out much hope.

How are you doing?

Oh i see! that's odd isnt it considering how we ended up with the first appointment the same?

So you'd be a week behind me, which would run right with your surgery time being a week behind mine, but your a week longer with your follow up appointment..

What stage will you be doing by then?

Marie x

We're doing this for ourselves.. no-one else.. so, on one hand i want to be seen as ''normal'' by other's and get the respect as a human, like healthy? slim? people do but then again, with my new found confidence, ive got since my ickle weight loss, i dont give a ''ku'hoot'' to be honest..

Anyway, the last gossip mag i read say's a ''14'' is the new size for all..

Sooo... :p to runway model's!

haha.. I hope your all well, here in the west midlands.. im fed up of the cold and this majorly windy wind! Its frightful!

Have a fabulous weekend all.. Im off to wallpaper!

Hi Marie. I eventually got through to them and they told me the reason I was in on 18 March is that Mr Mirza is not in on 11 March just Dr Hartland. So I will stick with 18 March. I should be on solid food at that stage so if I have another fill it will be back to liquids etc for another 4 weeks. That week I will be about 17 weeks post op. Shame I will not see you. How you doing? I have been a bit out of sorts last few days. My side has been really sore. Think I have been sleeping in an awkward position. Going to take it easy today.

Morning all. We have had really windy weather the last few days and it is no better today. I have to venture out today so better wrap up warm. Hope everyone has a good day.
