Andi!! Glad your meal out went well x How's the soft stuff going down now? Still OK I hope x

How are you all on here. I've been thinking of you and I'm sending love to all my family banders.

We've got a palm tree in our front garden... around 20 feet tall. It's looking terrible, the frost has killed the leaves off and it's looking bare... I think we have lost it.

Hubby's going to chop it to 5 feet tall and make a huge bird table, it's been poorly since that early frost.

Love to you all and thinking of you all, no exceptions.

Hugs everyone xxx

Morning :D I am grounded today as hubby is working lol....I hate it when he works Sundays as usually we go for a drive but it cant be helped, therefore I might have a dvd day with the slanket and the sofa ;) XX

Dottychic i have a better idea you can come and look after my lot as hubby is at work and i'll go to bed and have a dvd day..no popcorn tho as still on liquids ;)

Afternoon everyone
I've just had my second fill (Thursday) and the restriction is amazingly different. I can just about eat sloppies but even that is a little difficult. Question is - is it too much and how would I know? I haven't got heartburn or pain but I am sure I couldn't eat any 'real' food. I have two more days on sloppies but is this how it should be and my band was too loose before.
I'm confused?

Hello , when u say u can just about eat sloppy food do u mean swallowing it or feeling full quickly??? Its a good sign that your not experiencing pain or heartburn coz that would mean ur too restricted....I will await your reply before commenting any further. Remember chew chew chew ;););) and when u swallow ur food , dont swallow the whole mouthful at once swallow little at a time. Julie xx

Hi Julie
Thanks for responding. I can swallow fine but as soon as it goes done i get the tight chest feeling. Then I have to wait a good few minutes before I can have another mouthful. I had very runny porridge for breakfast but even that caused the tight feeling very quickly. I didnt have this before. I could eat anything, slowly, providing I chewed well and then i got the tight feeling after a good few mouthfuls. I can't say I'm enjoying any eating at the moment.
My band did seem to get looser the last time had a fill so im reluctant to think it needs some fluid out and im going to try to manage things. Hope it gets a little better tho - its a bit miserable at the mo
Thanks again for your help

Your welcome, the tight feeling in ur chest after a few mouthfuls is the restriction and this is quite normal so dont get alarmed hun. I find when I have a fill for few days mines tighter thats why they tell u to do clear liquids, slops and so on, gives ur pouch some "settling down time" I would say at this moment in time as long as ur getting fluids in and you are able to eat see if it settles hun, I know u sed ur not enjoying food at the moment but you will start to enjoy it once ur head catches up with your tummy;)
When u eat ur food how much are u having? once u have that full/tight feeling thats a sign u should stop eating altogether , any more food u eat would most likely end up down the loo ( soz if tmi) lol......P.S when I have a fill and I know I am gonna be a little tighter for few days, when on clear liquids and slops I tend too have 4/5 smaller amounts ( not full meals tho) just little and often till I am to eat normally then back 2 three squares a day, but this is my own personal thing I do. If u need any more info/help/tips etc dont hesitate to ask ....xxxx

Hi everyone, hope you're all well and enjoying what's left of your weekend.
Well I'm 2 weeks post op and I think something is wrong. It started Friday after I had a busy morning rushing around getting kids to school/nursery before my course started at 9.30am.
I got a sudden stabbing pain just under the right side of my ribs. It happens off and on but it's preventing me from bending to pick something off the floor and standing up or sitting down is also painful. I can feel something hard under my skin in the sore area. :(
I just phoned the emergency number and spoke to a nurse who said it's quite normal and to take painkillers as It will settle down. :(
Not sure if I believe her though?? Anyone else experienced similar?
Just noticed I got to 50 posts!!

Sorry I cant help as Im a bypasser but Im sure someone will be along soon with some advice for you...if you are still worried after that though I would ring the emergency number again or even go to A & E (HUG) Hope you feel better soon XX

Soft stuff is amazing! I feel so much better. Not weak or anything. :) have found a creamy potato soup that is REALLY good and more important, stays with me.

Thanks for asking. :)

Thanks Julie. At lunch it just miraculously got better. Had a small amount of swede and potato mash and took loads of time to eat it but I didn't get the chest pain until I had eaten a fair bit. I think its settling down and ive had some cottage cheese and grated cheese for tea which was OK too. thank you for your help - I had a couple of worried hours. Dont know what I'd do without this site.
Loads of love

Morning bandits...11 days post op and feeling a bit down....thinking maybe it's because i can't sit scoffin?? and maybe i'm bored too cos i can't sit eating!..does that make sense?
I suppose all the excitement of getting the op and the very long wait up to it i suppose it's a bit like the anti climax of your wedding day maybe.

Gardening season starting now so i'll have to get stuck into that keep me occupied!...i'm sure i can manage to plant some seeds at least. I better leave the digging for a few weeks yet.

New kitchen being fitted next monday so i'm sure i wont have time to be bored or feeling sorry for myself cos of lack of food then as plenty to do and then i can decorate.

Hope your all well and losing ;) xx

Morning all. Kelly, it will take time to adjust. It is about a whole lifestyle change and it will not happen overnight. Take it one day at a time - baby steps. As you start to feel the benefits of the changes you will get your head around the food side of things and hopefully it will not play such a huge part in your life. Keeping busy doing things is good - and it is exercise too!
