BANDERS UNITE ! Get to know each other chatter !

OK Folks,

Sorry I haven't been around much. Busy, depression, stress, work, and other stuff has got in the way.

Me? Well I've gained 4Ibs! I had a defill 1.5wks ago and I'm now down to 7ml in my band - no restriction whatsoever. Strange since when I was at 7ml I had some restriction. Now I feel .... I know I can eat lots. You should see what I've eaten today. I've been pigging and pigging for days now - I don't seem to be able to curtail it. Worse still I've not been able to get to the gym (my life line) since my car has stopped working. I would like to go running but I know i'm too heavy (I can barely get off the toilet because of my knees).

In two weeks I'm getting a fill and they have told me they're are going to fill me right up!! So looking forward to it.... for now I hope I can get to the gym before I head to Heathrow on Thursday (car pending).

TB, I'm going to go to efforts to read what's happening with you as given the this pages postings work isn't great for you right now. *hugs*

Just don't let the bee-atch put you off what you're doing health wise TB x
Get that cv circulating xxx

Mel that sounded like a good day though to that point. I am watching the Australian biggest loser from the net as I like it a lot better. But anything that helps motivate is good!

Drinks are always the same daily - Ice cold water, black coffee (no sugar), maybe one glass tesco diet lemon & lime fizzy

So far today
Cinnamon Oatso 206
Small tin drained tuna/1 tablespoon salad cream/small pack melba toasts 260

A very modest 25 minutes on the treadmill (trying to get it to be a habit again first then get serious!!!)

I'm trying to keep it samey so I'm not faffing in the kitchen too long.
will edit with tea and totals later

Weight watchers mince beef hotpot with cabbage and leeks 309

Slimfast 260

total - 1035

Hiya, TB that's shocking, I agree with Neen, get that cv sent out.

CC I hope the next fill helps you, and your car gets sorted soon.

Neen and Mel, you both sound like you're doing great.

Dotty I've just noticed you've lost 92lb, that's amazing, you must feel fab.

Hi Mazza, how're you, is the fill still going good?

I ended up working all day today as my client was poorly and couldn't go to her usual placement, so I've done no exercise. And I've a migraine(thank god for migraleve!) :(

Breakfast: coffee, fruit n fibre
Lunch: water, soup and a bag of revels (did you know they have less calories than malteasers?)
More water
Snack: coffee, small amount of lasts nights roast veg as I was hank marvin
Dinner: Chicken and something (undecided)

xx

Hello all. I have had the day from hell with work stuff. I do not officially start back until Monday but ended up doing about 6 hours of crap shovelling today:rolleyes:.

Anyway today I have had:
Actimel
1 coffee with skimmed milk in it
Water lots!
2 egg omelette with 3 turkey rashers
low fat chicken soup
Home made fish pie with peas and spinach
Strawberry muller light yoghurt

I have no idea how many calories that is

I also managed to get on the cross trainer having failed yesterday. It creaked and groaned and I am going to have to watch it as I am over the weight limit for it. I have it set at the lowest point and did 10 minutes, had a breather then another 5 minutes. It is a start!

I am in deep shock about what happened yesterday with my boss. I have another meeting with her on Friday. It looks like I may be in all day on the Friday as something urgent has come up and as she is going on holiday I have to be there. I really do not know how I am going to cope with all of this. It is going to be a real test.

Sounds like good choices TB, I think we just see how we all do this week and keep tweaking to get losses.
I am a bit on the low side calorie wise in the week because I don't like counting on the weekends and one of the days I like as a treat day...so not crazy throw caution to the wind or anything, but not strict either.
Walking on the spot is good too TB, but as long as we do some every day and build it into a habit, as we get smaller we can increase the intensity and length. Though I think an hour a day is plenty !

Don't let the crap that's happening with work take away the fact that you are doing fantastically. Who knows what the future is going to bring us if we persevere through the difficult things life chucks at us? I'm with you whatever happens OK? We're going to shift that weight and sort everything else out on the way down x

Aww TB things sound tough. I hope it all works out ok for you. We are here for you xxx

Right now then I like this fessing up to what we've eaten idea Neen it's really helped me not to be a piglet from hell today as it was such a deterrant having to own up to any badness!!

Today I have had

Half a bowl of porridge (couldn't manage all as band so tight this week) so probs 5 spoons of it

cup a soup at half eleven

half a small apple, one small pack of melba toasts (6 in a pack) half a tin of mushroom soup, two digestive bicskits

(A totally rubbish dinner, I am having what I can this week as pretty tight this week am assuming it's cos I'm back at work and the workload is so high, must be subconsciously stressed, oh and threw my complete and utter guts up last night so think that may have tightened things too!!)

For tea I had two fajitas involving dry fried turkey mince with spices added, lettuce, cucumber, tomato, cheese and bit of light mayo. Was amazed they went down and stayed down :) they were so tasty :) Haven't a scooby what all that adds up to but I feel good for it.

I had a two mile walk today which I did at a pace for me, 34 minutes. Considering I haven't walked for so long that was good.

I have bought some slimfast powder Neen I will try your idea tomorrow night.

As I was out most of this evening I was away from food, though did go food shopping and have to say if I hadn't been doing this I would have got something naughty, my sweet tooth is overpowering me something terrible atm. Anyway I hope this is something that will help me.

In between times I've had two litres of sf squash and tea/coffee and sf gum.

I did get today some tuna meals, will give them a go, as I'm still struggling with feeling full on my meals. At least if it's a controlled amount I can't go mad. I find I'm eating too much as not feeling full and then feeling terribly bloated etc half an hour afterwards, and I am eating slowly, I have no choice now else it comes back up.

This was a fab idea Neen thank you, it was lovely to see the newbies joining in too, it will be good for them to gain good habits like this at an early stage. (sorry I haven't quite got to grips with all the new names as yet )

I will check in tomorrow :) xxx

Hi Rache!!! This is keeping me on the straight and narrow too x I'm going to do my best to keep filling in all this week so we can see what worked and what didn't for us x
The slimfast at night is working for me so far, I just wish it was warmer weather..I put a lot of ice in as I mentioned, for the flavour and texture to be better, but end up shivvering under a furry throw on the sofa after!
As long as I shivver a bit more wodge off my fat bum I don't mind!!
Walking is brilliant, do-able and being consistant every day will pay off big time. A half hour / 45 minute walk daily is going to do a lot more than a crazy gym session once in a blue moon :)
Those melba toasts are suprisingly filling aren't they? I hope you like the tuna meals, the packaging reminds me a bit of sheba luxury cat food unfortunately !! I love the mediterranean one though, it's got a tiny bit of pasta in and some beans of some kind but really filling altogether.
Wouldn't it be fantastic if we all lost a couple pounds this week just by writing on here what we're having and that being the extra little push to be good ?

Evening all - today has been another one of those days and consequently I've not eaten very much.

4 crackerbreads with Philly extra light and cucumber - 136
Fat free fromage frais with fresh blueberries - 51
20g cashew nuts -126
Thai green chicken curry with rice - made with half a chicken breast, a small amount of Loyd Grossman sauce (yummy!) and 50g rice. Calories approx 325
So that's approx 638 plus milk from 4 coffees. I know that's not enough so I will make more of an effort to get some calories in tomorrow (never in a million years did I think I would ever hear myself say that!)
Still no exercise :( but might try and go for a walk tomorrow lunchtime.
Keeping my fingers crossed for us all come weigh in time at the end of the week!
Night-night

Hi Mel x I hope you can manage to up the cals a little bit tomorrow.
It's difficult isn't it? because I think also, it's important to listen to our bodies signals, or at least try to!! So it's hard to eat when you don't feel hungry. I guess if you can fit in your walk you would have a little boost of appetite.

Maybe adding some ham to the crackerbreads and a bit of nice granola , or these special K bites which have a nice flapjack type taste and are thin and crunchy for 99 cals a little bag http://www.tesco.com/groceries/Product/Details/?id=267144363 with the fromage frais and fruit?
Just so you get over 1000 a day at least so you don't go into starvation mode.
Or maybe a nice weight watchers pud after dinner..I like the choc brownie one which is something like 160 cals or so http://www.tesco.com/groceries/Product/Details/?id=253282208...nice and treaty but not going to damage your calorie allowance at all x

Neen you're doing so well. I'm going to update my intake in a min, I'm having a hungry evening, so think I'll have a wee bowl of porridge as I know that'll satisfy but not be too heavy on the calories.

Is chicken stirfry a slider? I've had some chicken and a small amount of stirfry veg, and I'm still hungry :(

I've recorded Biggest Loser so will do some exercise while i watch it. x

Hey Sarah x I think it depends on the moistness of the dish, has it got a lot of sauce etc. Remember you are due a fill so do what you can x
I am relying on calories to guide me because I have a lot in my band but some days I can eat tons of food.
It's unlikely I will have more in mine as I don't want to risk erosion or anything and when I choose well , it does give really good restriction.
I am trying to fill up on veggies (lots of cabbage - poor family!!) so that is very low cals and makes the ww meals stretch well.
As I mentioned, I have the weekend treat to tide me over but the evening slimfast thick shake dealie is really solving my evening munchie problem.
I am going to boost the choc flavour with a tablespoon of un sweetened cocoa powder which is 12 cals so I feel like I am getting a more luxurious treat...but it comes out quite ice creamy already and it bloats me out for the rest of the evening so hopefully I can just plod on with the plan till I get the remaining 7 stone off can't I?

Evening all. I had to go back to the doctors today because when I woke up I was swollen all over - fingers, legs, ankles, I looked like someone had punched me in both eyes. My GP was away and her locum was in. He said that unfortunately one of the effects of coming off the meds for my BP is that I will have fluid retention like this for 3 to 4 weeks. He checked my BP and said given I had done well to come off the ones I had and that I need to come off them because of my kidney function that I need to perservere as they want to avoid me having to go back on them. It is just as well I have decided not to weigh myself as I know I have gained weight but there is nothing I can do about it. I am not eating anymore than I have been and I am going to have to keep drinking as much as I can to get everything working. I felt quite despondent after the visit but I have thought about things. The whole point of having any kind of surgery was to get off the meds and to be rid of two thirds of what I was taking is great. I just wished my GP had explained to me that this would be one of the side effects. I look quite alarming and I felt like death this morning. Timing is lousy in terms of going back to work but I am going to have to do it. My boss is really ramping things up. I have to go in for a meeting this Friday and she knows I struggle in the mornings because of my BP - so she has fixed it to start at 8.30 am. Bear in mind it takes anything from 1 hour and 15 mins to 1 hour and 30 mins to get in you can guess what time I am going to have to be up to get there in time. I feel really weary.

Anyway today I have had:

Actimel
2 coffees one in the morning one in the afternoon
1 weetabix with skimmed milk and a teaspoon of splenda
Salad with fish sticks (they are from Waitrose and they were lovely and only about 100 calories) with a dribble of low fat mayo and a dribble of sweet chilli sauce, 2 satsumas.

I am about to have the rest of the home made fish pie with peas and spinach ( I tend to cook so it last for two meals for me and Mr TB).

I may have a yoghurt later

I am due to have my second fill on 18 march but WM is in chaos having recently had an out break of norovirus so I am half expecting it to be cancelled. I know I have nowhere near the restriction I should have so a lot of this is all about will power in terms of portion size now.

I also did about 15 mins on the cross trainer 10 mins and then another 5 mins after a rest. it is still creaking and groaning as I am using it. Might invest in a can of WD40!

I will not be weighing in with you all as I said but I am finding it useful to post.

Hi TB x You poor love :( I hate your evil cow of a boss...she'll get her come -uppance!!! Don't let old vinegar tits (pardon my french) get you down sweetheart.
This is our year to fix things and get slim OK?

Crossing my fingers that there's no delay with your fill x

Just had my shake with the extra bit of cocoa powder and yummy it was too, much better :D

I just thought actually, I know you aren't weighing with us but have you got /or could you get an nice item of clothing in a size down from your currrent one to try on each weekend?
I used cheap pairs of jeans (say a tenner a pair) and tried after weighing every Saturday to see how far they could do up. Non stretchy ones so I could tell inches were coming off..it's a really good boost when you fit them better each time.

Hi Neen. I am really not feeling like giving in to her plotting and scheming - I can be a stubborn moo when I put my mind to it - and I have put my mind to it:D.

At least I do not feel like comfort eating as I am sure she is going all out to sabotage my health to get me out the door. She broke my health once already and she is not going to do it again.

You are going great guns with your eating Neen. Glad the slimfast went down well.

Hello again fellow banders!

Today my remarkably similar to previous days posts is as follows:

200ml Apple Juice - 100
2 Ryvita crunch with clover lighter-146
2 Bourbon biscuits - 134 (I was stuck in a 5 hour meeting until 3.30pm and they were just sitting on the table staring at me!)
4 crackerbreads with Philly extra light and cucumber plus a slice of ham (Thanks Neen for the suggestion!, shame I only had one slice in the fridge but it was still nice!) - 156
Fat free fromage frais with fresh blueberries - 51
20g cashew nuts - 126
Thai style prawns with 75g rice = 365
3 Chocolate Digestives = 240 (oops)

Total for day 1318. So I managed to get a few more calories in today although I appreciate that too many of them came from biscuits but I'm feeling ok about the total. Generally I'm happy to be anywhere between 1200 - 1400 calories per day.
Because of the aforementioned 5 hour meeting I didn't get a lunch break as such so no chance of getting the walk I mentioned and still no exercise done. I don't have any equipment at home (apart from the Wii Fit) and am thinking about getting an exercise bike or similar for home use. Trouble is I've have got them in the past and ended up getting rid of them after a couple of years when they only ever been used to hang washing off - I'm sure we've all been there, lol. What do other members have indoors to help with the exercise or do you do the gym thing?
Thanks all x

Good idea about the clothing:D. I am having a sort through at the moment so I will try and find something.
