bypass daily menu -

Paula!! I have been eating crackers from around 6 weeks without any problems. As long as you chew them well they tend to dissolve so never caused me any discomfort or pain.. I had the crackerbreads and the melba toasts and different types of ryvita. Maybe just try eating half of one and seeing how that feels??

I had the crackerbread on mush as it basically became mush the minute it was in my mouth.

Hi hope everyone is well. Only lost 3/4 lb this week :-( but never mind still lost! Chrisa the beef in a pocket sounds good so in going to try it. Menue today
B banana
S small bag of pistachio
L half pocket with tuna crunch and beetroot salad
S strawberries, yoghurt, mini meringue ( my LF eaton mess )
D 2x sausage, small Yorkshire pud, small dollop of mash

Thank you ladies for replying to Paula bout the crackers, it seems such a long time now since I was at that stage I have forgotten a lot of it. I tend to worry after givin g some advice because like I say it has been a while and the old grey matter not too good at moment. Pleased we caqn all work together to support each other thats the good thing especially with this thread and lots of others of course, just incase I offend anyone. Its good to share xx

I had to chew it for ages, but I just wanted something different chrissa. It was cold by the time i'd had enough lol x

I really want to try some Jacobs choice grain crackers.I've been fancying them for ages. Do you think they'll be ok when Im on solids, with a bit of Philly light or something?

hi Paula
if you try them i would recommend only have a half of one to start with. i tried melba toast last week and had two. i chewed them really well but unfortunately they caused a blockage below my stomach and i was in absolute agony. so my advise would be go slow.....

i'm sure you wont have any problems, good luck

Hi all went out for lunch today may sound silly but found very little to eat but ended up with a feast

Its difficult when you go out being so newly bypassed. Even now I know I can have anything but tend to stick to chicken or lasagne or something similar then I bring home the biggest part usually eat salad or veg and a portion of the main, meat etc then take rest home for next day. xx

B CRUMPET WITH spread
S grapes
L NOODLES chicken n vegstirfry
D OTHER HALF FOR TEA N THE REST IN BIN COULDNT EAT MUCH NOODLES SO FILLING

TEA N WATER

my tummy feels still not totally right its after I have eaten and the food moves down think its the transfer between 2 bowels and possibly trying to get out(sos TMI) around my belly button area. I have bought some kolanticon gel today to try and see what that does. fingers x just hoping its not guna come into anything more serious. xx

hi Mark

i think you did really well, and a little of what you fancy occassionally isn't a bad thing

Today's menu -
Breakfast - Half cup of blackberries and a slice of ham.
Lunch - Half slice of wholegrain toast and 2 poached eggs.
Dinner - Homemade turkey burger (just molded the turkey mince into a small patty and grilled) with some philly extra light on top and a little brocolli on the side.
Snack - Made a mini version of the burger, plan to have it will a dairylea light cheese slice on top. Will probably put some lettuce and tomato on top.
Drinks - Tea, water - didn't need a protein shake today as hit 80g's with food alone.

Exercise - 40 mins cardio at the gym plus weights, half hour walk home and half hour walk with my dog.

Good morning everyone. Well done on your protein intake shelleymarie!! And mark sounds like you had a nice lunch out yesterday!!
Well I didn't post my menu yesterday, and not inclined to today either.. I know I shouldn't, but have weighed myself a day early and have only lost 1 lb since last Saturday!! It seems such a little for so much effort.. The only thing I can think of is that I have upped my carb intake having more veggies and fibre, that's about all that's changed in my diet... Sometimes this seems harder than just dieting.... I meticulously write down everything I eat or drink.... I record protein fat calories and carbs.. I panic if I eat something and can't get to write it down... I think I am becoming emotionally attached to my writing pad lol!!! But after all that! Just 1 rotten lb..........How can you eat so little and only lose a lb???
Oh well now I've had a good moan to start my day off. It can only get better I suppose... Hope everyone has a good day xxx

Morning all good news is lost 2lbs I put on last week and another 1 to go with it which finally puts me into the 14's at long last. Bad news is was crippled last night, tummy hadnt felt right all day. Lots of pain coming and going in stomach round belly button area but felt like it was wind really nasty but was farting like a trooper which eased for a time then it reoccurred every 5 to 10 minutes, I lay on my stomach which helped a bit but pains were bad if i hadn't have been letting off wind all tha time I would have gone off to hospital it was that bad. I tried kolanticon gel for the 1st time yesterday, and in the end had to try my buscopan again I was exhausted and poor tummy feeling bruised and sore again was really worried incase I had a blockage, or worse an abscess or ulcer. Just pleased itsn ot here this morning, but not eaten anything yet. xx

Well done on the weight loss chrisa!! The tummy pain you keep getting doesn't sound good!! Maybe you should get checked out just to be on the safe side??

OOh I know am frightened of what they might say, don't ever want to have another gastroscopy though n thats what they might well say. xx

Amanda

I know what you mean about working soooooo hard for very little reward, i totally understand how you're feeling. I can offer no help or advice but can empathise with you. i struggle with the same problem then suddenly another week i may lose 4 or 5lb.

Any loss has got to be a good thing - it may not be as much as we like or want but at least its going down.

Please don't get downhearted, it is worth the hard work

Thanks dinoo! It's just nice to know that I'm not the only one I think... This is such a difficult journey sometimes.. and yet would do it all over again in a heartbeat!!..
Chrisa I know a gastroscopy isn't a nice thing to have, but if it gets to the bottom of all the pain you are having, then maybe it would be worth it?? And if they find nothing, at least it will put your mind at rest xxx

Weigh in day for me too today and I think I actually did a little yelp of joy. I've lost 4lb this week. Meaning I've lost 8 stone now. Which means I've hit the target I wanted to be for my holiday tomorrow! I'm over the moon because I weighed myself a day early yesterday too and it said I lost a pound but I somehow dropped 3 over night. I had to test it three times to make sure it was right. I'm so so happy about this as I'd nearly killed myself at the gym this week too. I also did my measurements and I've lost another 10 inches off my body this month. That is if you are only counting one side, like one wrist, calf etc. it's more if you count both. I actually lost 3 inches off each thigh this month so I'll say again if you don't measure start as it is worth it. I'm thinking I'll still need the sit belt extension on the plane as I'm pretty sure I was around 17st 5 last time I didn't so that is a shame but I'm closer :)

So Amanda don't despair, although that probably won't happen as this is the first time for me, I really understand how frustrating it is logging everything, eating right and doing what you are suppose too and some weeks it just doesn't work out but it will again. I actually had an heated discussion with a friend who said it's just energy in and energy out but if that were true, us who eat under the calories we burn would lose 2 or more pound a week consistently but it just doesn't work like that. You might be surprised you lose another over night anyway. I'm going to give you advice I can't seem to take myself and say try not to obsess over it as it will be come far too hard to sustain otherwise. Maybe why some nutritionist etc. mention we shouldn't count calories but like I say I know this is very hard to stop doing as I obsess about it all the time. Maybe it is something that will ease with time. Definitely helps to get it off your chest though. Next week will be your week again :) xx

Oh Chrisa, so sorry you've been in pain again. I hope you will take Amanda's advice and go see your gp or ring your team. Please don't keep suffering, it might be something simple they can do to help you xx

I'll post menu later. Have a good day everyone :)

Hi all have just been to docs he has thoroughly examined my tummy but found a sore spot but nothing sinister, to keep up with the buscopan on a daily basis and see how I go from there, says it could just be my body adjusting to the surgery, and may be something I have to cope with, not what I wanted to hear but will see xx better than ulcer or abscess xx also listened to it gurgling xx

Glad you went Chrisa, I hope it isn't something you have to put up with though. Maybe it's just a stage and things will improve soon. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you xx
