Gastric Bypass Daily Menus

I had a bad eating day, just really didn't want much!

B - yogurt & milky coffee
L - had coffee at 11am but skipped lunch, nothing sounded good to me
D - Steak, cabbage salad & 1 new potato (Thanks HC it was yum, I'll have to cook for you next time)
Snack - mini babybel & banana at about 11pm

Yep, I was bad, I ate too little and also didn't drink enough. I think it might be the coffee, when I am out I tend to get lattes and they have alot of caffine which is an appetite supressant. Maybe that's it?? Anyway, must try harder next time I'm out.

will inflict decaff on you by force if you skip meals again!

Today I had scrammbled egg on toast at Morrisons for breakfast. It did not go down very well at all :( I had to fetch it up before I could start my shopping, it was killing me, then when I had a sip of tea....well I wished I was dead lol. I wonder if it was because I was eating out, as I have scrambled egg all the time at home?
Needless to say I was dead chuffed with my shopping trolley cuz I did'nt fancy anything straight after that and Paul was chuffed cuz it was a cheap shop this week lol.

Thanks so much.
I have watched you shrink over the last few months and you have certainly been making great food choices.
The people who complain and say that they aren't losing the amounts they expected is because they are still eating crap and not getting the right nutrition that they need every day.

I have been very positive about having this operation from the start and it has certainly helped me in my recovery so far and with my eating choices whilst on the pureed stage. It can be difficult to incorporate enough protein in this stage but I am doing my best. I have found a protein drink called phd pharma whey and it gives you 20g of protein with each portion with only 1.5g of fat so I think I am going to go and get some today.
Does anyone else use protein shakes?

Yasmine there are a fair few of us who use protein shakes, they are very useful for preventing muscle loss and ecouraging weight loss. Check the carb content on them, some of them can have as many carb grams as protein grams, which defeats the purpose.

Yesterday I had the most cals I have had since before xmas

Breakfast = Nothing

Dinner = jacket spud with beans

Tea = poppin Quorn, salad, LF cheese 30g and 1 wholemeal bread

PS nice to see you back Ali

I think you're making a very sweeping statement there about people who are struggling with weight even after surgery, its been trial and error for me and many others that are having to change the way we eat and we make mistakes now and again. We use this forum to get help and suggestions from others as well as helping others with our experiences........its certaintly not due to still eating crap!

I have certainly touched on a few peoples raw nerves there haven't I!!

It was not my intention to single out anyone in particular I was simply passing comment on how well Phatgirl has done and how it has been down to great food choices. I myself have battled with my weight for well over 12 years and at my heaviest went up to 29st 1lb so I DO know what it feels like to battle with my weight. My comments purely were highlighting the fact that my head is in the right place now FINALLY and that if you choose to eat crap you will get crap results. WLS was a very difficult decision for me as it is for a lot of people and shouldn't be taken lightly and once I decided to undergo major surgery(Ihave had the duodenal switch which is even more servere than bypass) that I was going to follow what my surgical team told me to the letter as there was NO WAY I was going to not let this work for me. I have two young children and I am only 31 myself and want to enjoy the rest of my healthier, happier life with my family instead of always being the odd one out missing out on things due to my size.

I feel that until we take fully 100% responsibility for our own actions or omissions then we will never truely achieve our goals. We have to stop blaming others for the things that have gone wrong in our lives and change our responses to get the desired outcome. For me that means making big lifestyle changes to get the end result I have longed for for far too long......a new happy, healthy, slimmer, sexier me!!!
This, however, is my opinion to which I am entitled and I don't force this upon anybody. I am my own person on my own journey and if my post has made you annoyed in any way then just take 5 mins to honestly look at yourself and ask why you reacted in that way and be honest with yourself.

I don't feel as though I have said anything out of turn and I certainly won't be appologising as I didn't direct my comment to anybody in particular. Those who have taken offense have personalised it not me!!
