I am worried that its heavy on the carbs but I don't know what else to do as this is my first week on purees and want to stick with something safe that I know I'll like.

How did everyone find pureed meats as I know it alters the texture and I don't know know whether I'm ready to experiment just yet. All advice greatfully received 8O(

Hi hun, we all kinda go heavy on carbs during purees because they are easy and filling. I did fine with pureed meat, I did poached chinken in gravy and then blended, was fine. I also did mince in tomato sauce, I used lean steak mince and blended it up, was yummy. I topped it with a bit of ricotta & parmesan cheese, very tasty. If you like turkey mince, it cooks down to a gentle mush and you can add gravy, tomato sauce or even a cheese sauce if you like. Don't forget that hummus is a 'sloppy' so you can have that an it is a good protein food. And prawn salad blended is really quite good!

Best of luck! Try and be adventurous when at home you might find something you love.

Nic:)

Good luck with the slops Terri MYself I ended up back on fluids and homemade soups as I couldnt stomach blended food, the worst had to be salmon in parsley sauce blended that was so wrong in so many ways lol
