Gastric Bypass Daily Menus

B - yogurt & apple
L - didn't have any down w/headache during mid-day
D - we had our Thanksgiving today (delayed from last week, lol) so I had 2 slices roast chicken w/gravy, 2 spoons of green bean casserole, 1 spoon of mashed sweet pots with brown sugar splenda, 2 spoons of creamed corn, 2 bites of sage stuffing & 1/2 fresh roll w/butter - wow I ate tons!

Snacks - none, but tasted things as I was cooking lots of extra calories...made some lovley small containers for the freezer and J has lunch for the next 2 days. Additionally we have half a chicken left, so I see chicken salad & chicken soup in our future!

Cuppa, more fluids! That'll get you shifting again. Aim for 2 litres a day.

Thanks Shel I'm trying I'm trying!! :D The scales have began shifting again so I'm very smiley today!

Cuppa xx :D:D

This is just my advice to you hun from looking at your menu, but as always check with your own team if in doubt or if you are concerned. In my opinion your volume is fine no worries but you are really filling up on carbs which will make it hard for you to fit the protein in. You had lunch which was made mostly of simple carbs, why not try tuna mayo & slice of bread or beans & salad, or perhaps a crustless quiche slice and a piece of fruit? For dinner you could have had a serving of veg with your chicken instead of spring rolls. As for your snack, they should always be fruit, veg or protein based at your stage, you went for a 100% carb snack which gives you zero nutrition but added calories. If you feel like you need a snack at your stage, eat some nuts, a yogurt, a protein shake, heck make some protein cake if you want something sweet but don't waste pouch room on useless food in the early days. When you get further out and eat a wide variety of foods and a higher volume of food the carby pattern you have now may slow weight loss which you want to avoid.

HTH,
Nic;)

Thanks Nic, I think eating too much carbs has actually been making me crave carbs if that makes sense... It's easier to eat carbs than think about what Im eating.

Yesterday:
Breakfast - 2 tablespoons of bran flakes with SS milk
Lunch - Small amount of mince beef with gravy
Dinner - 2 fish fingers and 1 tbsp baked beens

I think this is a bit better.

Well today wasn't the best food wise... or much else wise tbh.

I was ment to go for my swine flu jab, but didnt, cos i spent most of the night awake so i was wrecked.. then i went to the drs as the contraceptive implant has given me my TOM for the past 3 weeks... and to get some more sleeping pills... then off to the psych nurse for my weekly meeting... so i was feeling sorry for myself and my OH wanted curry... sooo...

Today:
Chicken stuffed with mince in sauce, little bit lamb bryani, lil bit of naan, small onion bahji ... then a lil bit more bryani later...

oh and i also ate some water melon and 2 spoons of muller light... lol

So what i ate wasnt that good for me (but it wasnt that bad) but there wasnt 3 meal just one and a bit not great ones!

Are you drinking enough fluids hun? You should stil be sip sip sipping throughout the day adding up to at least 2 litres of fluids? I only say as I get dizzy when I dont drink enough! It can be quite dangerous leading to low salt and potassium levels etc.

I had thought it might be not enough water, Salski. But I had at least 2.5 litres that day. Only other thing I could I had done differently was the lack of food the day before!

I've not felt dizzy since then, so I'm glad its not a reoccuring side-effect!
