Sally you need an at home hobby. I used to evening eat, and part of my weight management sessions was resolving that pre-op. I knitted :) or played sims on my laptop. Basically I distracted myself in the evenings with something that made eating hard, and it worked really well.

B : 1 weetabix with SS Milk - 1 half mug milky ls hot choc.
L : 3 tsp mash, 2 sprouts & gravy.
D :

Snacks : Carrot stick & bag wotsits (NOT something I usually do and will not be doing again).

Not the greatest day today, it was Christmas lunch for the kids at work today and they give us some too and I tried some meat, tiny and chewed well but it hurt...and could only manage a tiny bit of mash, sloppy sprouts (Im wierd, I love them!!!) and gravy before I felt very uncomfy.
I felt hungry mid afternoon and had a carrot stick but that made me feel sick until around 6pm, carrot doesnt usually but it did today. Have come home not wanting dinner and grabbed a bag of Wotsits and they went down well. I dont do this post op and I will NOT be doing it again, the guilt that I am feeling about them isnt worth it.
I havent had nearly enough liquids today but will try to get some in this evening. Protein intake has been pants too.
If anyone could comment on yesterdays food that would be great, comments such as 'not enough' 'too much' etc as I am trying to work out why my weight has stalled. I do know to drink more fluid and up my protein to help me out but it isnt always easy.

Hey Steph, yesterday wasn't too bad! The meals were fairly good, so long as the puree at lunchtime was atleast 1/2 protein and not all potato and veg.

Snacks wise it would be better to aim for protein based snacks. Things like babybel, a low sugar yoghurt, milk drinks etc.

I noticed you've got drinks listed with your meals, are you remembering to not drink anything 30 minutes before and 30 minutes after your meals?

Thanks Shel xx
The meal was mainly meat to be honest, meat and gravy and veg.
Yep Im not generally eating after meals, cept breakfast for my meds, I didnt know about not eating half hour before. It is quite hard though because to get enough liquids in I have to drink almost constantly and I dont have set meal times so it is hard to seperate eating and drinking, though I know Im supposed to.
As for the snacking, is it something that I should be doing? I only ever snack when I feel that my protein isnt going to be high enough, which really is very often but Im not snacking every day, sometimes feel as though I should be having a yoghurt or something but then I have had years being told that snacking is bad.
The diet sheet that the Spire gave me would have me eating every few hours with mid morning/afternoon/evening snacks but that makes me feel guilty as though it is too much food, even if it does add to the good stuff.
Its a complicated thing isnt it.

Today has been a bit of a rubbish day... went for swine flu jab, then into town, then when i got home my glasses fell off my face and my OH stood on them breaking them in 3 places... id had them 3 years... but they were dior and cost £465!!! boo.

So cos i was out most the day which was unplanned i had:

6 inch veggie patty subway (ate all this through out the day)
and a small steak and salad (ate this at home only 175g in total)

i might have an apple :)

EDIT!!!!

I went on to eat the above apple... some nuts and some beans and cheese opppps!

Steph I followed the same diet sheets, and snacking hasn't caused me any problems! So long as you choose the right snacks it can help weight loss as eating little but often keeps your metabolism raised and helps increase your protein intake. Snacks can be milky coffees or protein shakes etc which helps get more fluids in too.

Sally you need an at home hobby. I used to evening eat, and part of my weight management sessions was resolving that pre-op. I knitted :) or played sims on my laptop. Basically I distracted myself in the evenings with something that made eating hard, and it worked really well.

Hiya Shell - thanks for your advice. I hear what your saying about getting a hobby, and I have become more busy in the evenings, but I can literally be in bed ready to go to sleep and end up getting up to snakc which is stupid! I know it and need my hands chopping off!

I know Im only sabotaging myself and can have soooo much restriction during the day. Yesterday I ate:

Half a bagel for breakfast
Goulash for dinner (on the Christmas Market and couldnt finish it!)
a pork chop for tea

Snacked at 11 last night, fruit (pineapple, mango and kiwi) and pack of crisps which made me ill...

I swear of the stupid crisps each time I have them...but then the next day do the same. Its making me so angry with myself!

Again I will try better today

Do you have to have crisps in the house? The least tempting things are the things that aren't there ;)

Nope - I told myself I wouldnt buy them...so then I go to the shop and buy them! Ive just had an attack of the low blood sugar and had lots of fruit rather than carby crap! Thanks Shell. x

Thanks Shel.
My usual 'snack' type things are a laughing cow light cheese triangle and latte coffee, I havent had them as much this week but usually I do have lots of milky drinks and am trying to up my laughing cow habit lol
I also have taken to having a small handful of plain nuts to try to up the protein too.
Im looking into getting those Edamame Beans that Mark mentioned because apparantley they are chocca block with protein.
I will be making a concerted effort to be sure to have plenty during the day to see if that kicks my metabolism back into gear.
