Gastric Bypass Daily Menus

Ive been away for the past few days, so my eating wasnt top notch...


On Thurs i ate nothing at all till about 7:30pm and i had some steak and a wee bit of dauphinoise potato uhhh a scallop uhhhmmm fruit salad and abite of my OH's choc pudding... we were at a hotel, so we had a meal.

I then scoffed a bag of kettle chips at about 11pm (a small bag, not the huuuge ones)

On Friday, i was getting tattooed... and then my OH was, so we were there all day, so i had a veggie patty subway half way through my tattoo... i only managed a 1/4 then managed to eat the rest through out the day (just a 6" one)

When we got home (at 10pm) we found our fridge (which we keep outside) had frozen... so we had no food... so we got a take out. I had a little chow mein, and prawn crackers, little rice.


Today, again not the best day!
I only got 4 hours sleep at the hotel ( i didnt notice the pillows were feather under the ones i was sleeping on) woke up feeling AWFUL... so i was so tired today!

Had to go into town, spent 2 hours walking (was in town for longer, so that takes out all the times i was stood still looking at crap lol) - so atleast i managed to burn some badness off...

Today i ate:

Tiny bowl of left over take away.
Fruit.
Beef strog, with asparagus (was ment to be scallops, but i did an epic fail and the sauce split)

Sorry for the mad long post!
I'm going to do some exercise tomorrow (my arm is killing me after sitting for 4 hours being tattooed! it hurts to even move it a little)

on the plus side, my weight has stayed the same, i havent put on any, and ive lost all my christmas weight and some :), i seem to have lost inches recently too! YAAAY!!!

Yesterday......

B - Bowl of Special K - Skinny Latte from Costa
L - Left over stir fry - wasnt as nice 2nd time round lol
T - Curry Feast lol - Had friends over for dinner and we made a curry feast for about 100 people, only 4 of us there lol I just picked at a little bit of everything, was lovely

Bottle of wine and some nibbles late at night......

Not the healthiest evening but have been relatively good recently so was a treat i think i deserved ;-)
 
Today:
Breakfast; Lean healthy living bacon rounds (3) mushrooms, egg and ww bread.

Lunch:
Fuller for longer soup from m&s (low in cals and yummy)


Dinner:
m&s count on us (low cal low fat) ham and pineapple pizza ( ate 100g.. well actually i left the crust, so less than 100g ) salad and asparagus (200g in total for this meal, left 30g though)


Snacks:
1 orange
1 apple
Couple of slices of wafer thin ham and cottage cheese to boost protien, oh and a cracker.


Today i have had about 1000 cals.

B - 1/2 pot cottage cheese
L - nothing
D - aubergine parmigan from restaurant

Snacks: 1 bag crisps

Saturday
B - satsuma
L - porridge
D - 1/2 chicken breast, mash, veg and gravy (managed to eat all of it I was so pleased)

Sunday
B - melon
L - aubergine parmigian made at home (still yummy)
D - home made chicken soup

S loads of melon balls/milky coffee
 
January 10th 2009

B. A few slices of apple and around 3-4 grapes

L. Asda cheese omlette with a bit of extra cheese

D. Half of a pork chop, cut into little bits.

'Snacks'...4 mini pretzels.

Fluids...not nearly enough!!! 3/4 mug of hot chocolate (lf, ls) some water.

Will have to do MUCH better with my fluids.
 
B - half a toasted tea cake, half a slice of toast and half a hash brow.....crabed up or what?!
D - nothing
T - cajun chicken in sauce with a tablespoon of rice and a bite of a naan
Snacks...here goes....half a pack of rowntrees fruit gums :O
 
Today:
Breakfast; lean bacon rounds, egg, mushroom and ww bread
Dinner; lightly dusted cod (m&s thingy) salad and 30g boiled spud
supper; cottage cheese, wafer thin ham, an ornage and a cracker... odd.


Snacks:
1 apple
1 orange
3 crackers and a teaspoon of peanutbutter.

B - 100g of Cottage Chese + 2 x Babybell Light - 30g Protein
D - Half a packet of Chicken + 2 Slices of Cheese - 40g Protein
T - Spinach and Ricotta Pasta in Tomato and Mascapone Sauce - 22g of Protein

Drinks - Skinny Latte x 2 (10g Protein) + Glass of white wine with Tea

Over 100g of Protein today :)
 
BREKKIE: left over curried chicken and cous cous

LUNCH: left over curried chicken and cous cous

DINNER: last of the left over curried chicken and cous cous
............what will i do tomorrow now it's all gone?!!!!
 
Yesterday:

B - Homemade apple oat protein square (15g protein)
L - leftover salmon for dinner the night before & 2 small crisp breads (15g protein)
D - Crustless quiche (prawn, cheese & roasted veg), satsuma (20g? protein)
Snack - Gingerbread cookie protein shake, several low-carb vanilla wafers (30g protein)

Fluids - 2x400mls milky tea, 1L sf squash and about 3x400mls milky coffees - need to up non-coffee fluids! (10g protein)

D - Chicken tikka salad
T - chicken wings with stir fry vegetables
Snacks so far - Tangerine, half a slice of fruit loaf

hi all seem to be struggling at moment food wise eating anything and everything.
Was laid off from my job xmas eve and with snow again cant get out so think i am bit fed up (no excuse but its the truth )

I have eaten
B banana with ss milk and protien powder whizzed up
Snack half apple and bag crisps
lunch few spoons of quorn curry and rice with lettuce and cue
snack chock muffin:(
Dinner will be quorn burger cabbage and carrots with gravy
pudding/snack yogurt
its loads init?
i know its too much but its still lot less than b4 op and cant stop thinking about food. but frightened i will stretch my pouch
drunk 1.5 L squash
3 cups of tea

Julie, pouch stretching takes a lot of abuse, I wouldn't worry too much...

Today...

B - 2 Scrambled eggs, few spoons of beans and half a bagel
L - Nothing
T - Thai Green Curry with added Prawns ans Chicken for extra protein

D - Pure Apple Juice and a Coffee...

Thursday is weigh in day for me stayed the same and drawn a line underneath last week feel positive and back on track now :)


planned my menu today
B protien shake with banana
L tuna and ham salad with sm j pot
D salmon and veg with sauce

Not planning any snacks but if i get hungry i will have apple and babybell

Julie as Mark said pouch stretching takes a lot to do! Im glad you feel more positive with your food! Up protein, fill up on that and veg and salad and fruit and minimise carbs! Cant go far wrong with that! hehe

B - nothing as got up late
D - 3 slices of pizza
T - lamb chop, 2 chicken wings and some salad

Pizza was a treat and lack of breakfast was not good! Need to take heed of my own advice :S
 
Hi everyone!

I have been told by my team (both the Nurse AND my dietician) that I have not been eating enough, so I thought I would start posting my menu on here again and get peoples opinions.

I don't think I could eat much more than I am, and for me the portions feel 'right'. I am not going to push myself to eat when my body tells me to stop! I have not been sick or had any other problems with my food and I don't intend to start now!

It came up when I mentioned I was feeling faint and I callapsed a few times after standing up too quickly. After going to the doctor it turned out I had low blood pressure - I drink 2 litres pd, so I'm increasing it to 3 to try and help with that.

My team are telling me to eat between 800-1000 Kcal pd, but I am managing around 500-600. When it came up I was havng between 300-500 so I know I'm doing better - just not as high as they are asking for.

I have tried increasing my portion size but my body just won't let me eat more; and I have tried eating more regularly but then the amount I can eat in a portion significantly decreases. And like I have said before I won't force myself to eat once I feel full.

I never intended to calorie count after my operation, but now I feel I have to in order to make sure I am following my teams advice!

Long rant over with, so here is my food today:

Friday 15th January
[550]
0900 1 egg [80], 1 slice ham [20], 4 tsp beans [70]
1330 1 Go Ahead Slice [70]
1500 1/2 Wholewheat wrap [100], 2 Turkey Slices [50], 1 Light Mini Babybell [40]
1800 1/3 ready meal: Chicken in Blackbean, Fried Rice, 1 Veg Spring Roll (baked not fried) [200]
 
Today was fine until last night :(
B - yoghurt
D - chicken and cous cous
T - chicken with few LF oven chips
Snacks - lots of raw peanuts, then half a tube of winegums! :(
