Message to Myself ... diary to remind me where I have been and where I am going

what size am i really?

Well I went clothes shopping....in some shops I am a 16, others a 14, and even in M&S a size 12 (OMG YES a size 12). Strange old malarky eh?! Maybe I should have worn M&S clothes before, then I would have thought I was a size 22 not a size 26. Instant weight loss and cheaper than surgery.

Monsoon I think is going to become my favourite new high street shop at last - I used to look at it longingly for years, and now its become a reality. Just need to keep my eyes open on the sales rack rather than the full price items cos I have a big gap in my wardrobe to fill, and contrary to what people think not all bankers get bonuses.

The official bra sizing was also done today for the first time since July last year - 40b or 38c - where or where did my lovely boobies disappear to? Lady in M&S even had to give me guidance on how to put them spaniels ears in my bra ... and I am 45 years old. Oh nooooooooooooooooo - let the silicone savings fund begin ...
:banana dancer: smaller is not always better

Snap Michelle! As for monsoon saw 2 dresses that were lush on the sale rack both in a size 20! (my pre op size)! How gutting I couldn't buy them...and they didn't have them in a 14 :( ah well...we still have more pluses than minuses these days so it hardly gutted me for long. Then I trotted off to m&s too for a bra fitting..weird day we had in our own worlds hey!! Lost inches but the cup size is still there...38dd boy oh boy lol :D xx

wk-37 post op

I was re-reading my post from last Saturday when I made comment about whoever would have thought I had not eaten by 8.30 as I was still full from the night before. Reminds me of one of my poorer eating habits pre-band. As I get up at 5.00am approximately in the mornings in response to popular demand of the 3 pooches (and to stop them howling) I always but always used to have two breakfasts - one around half an hour after I had woken and another when my OH used to get up. That little extra meal which no-one knew about until I have admitted now was probably part of my weight problem (another major player was those big grab bags of sweeties / chocolates but I confessed to that previously).

Been poorly with cold this week and I think bands been a little tighter. But not too restricted, so being poorly has probably not had the same effect as for someone whose band is at their sweet spot already. Thank goodness. I would not fancy being so tight that I had to have an emergency defill. 4lbs lost this week but on c 980 calories on average a day - which is too low and which I don't advocate. Prefer to be nearer the 1200 a day.

7lbs off my 12st goal now, and that should hopefully be achieved in the next 4-6 weeks, so my mind has now started racing ahead to what I will need to change to be a successful maintainer? Not wanting to get ahead of myself, so I will ask for guidance from the experienced and successful maintainer bandits in a few weeks time, so I understand how I need to shift my mindset, calories, band, etc, etc.

OH back home from States next Wednesday, so I am realistically hoping for a STS week next week as I will be eating out more often again (in his own words - his "treat for me so I dont need to cook" LOL - why does he not take me to a fancy restaurant then instead of a pub? and the beer has no attraction for him - honestly - does he think I am stupid ???!!!) STS also because my band has a monthly cycle too and that STS week is due :sigh:

And I just remembered, the good friday challenge was for me to reach 13st (and I am now at 12st7lbs) so I was going to reward myself with an easter egg if I achieved that goal. I am still hoping I win that massive Charity Thorntons Easter Egg which I bought ten tickets for ;) BRING IT ON

Michelle- you are sooooo funny.
Your husband sounds like mine but he is of the 'verycarefulwithmoney' types of men which is extremely useful when I'm the queen and don't carry cash!!! however this means I have to beg and cajole to go out and this usually works! We're off out for a meal this weekend but we'll have one course as he is on Scottish Slimmers and doing VERY well ( he's p****** off that I'm lighter than him now!!)

As to your confession re: secret breakfasts- my confession is that I used to come in from work stressed out of my box and ate a dinner whilst cooking my dinner! I've worked really hard on that one this week. My OH has a salad and a milky coffee waiting for me now!!

I think my OH is gaining as I am losing at the moment. I started 4 stones heavier than him and I think I am around 4 1/2 stones less. TBH I lovely his little belly. He has the physique of a jelly baby ... Whats not to love about that LOL

Aww FB. I hope u tell him that on a regular basis! X

Wk-38 post op

As predicted STS week this week, so I am happy. Upped the calories again, by having a carb busting day. Back up to 1170 average cals a day which is better than the past couple of weeks. Next week to get those back over 1200!

What's not to be happy about: hubby home again for 4 weeks; three lovely pooches with unconditional love; visit to see daughter in three weeks time - whoever would have thought it 12 months ago that I could be so happy.

Inspired by Jo's new profile pic. I got out my size 26 work trousers and I can fit my new size 14 tuche in just one of the trouser legs ... Albeit I do look like a mermaid :8855:

Oh my confession this week. I threw away food. No wonder I had bad stomach ache. Preparing food in dim light...not good! Didn't realise my cream cheese had gone furry  a few months ago I would never have had food in the fridge so long that it went off! Better to have eaten it, rather than throw it away! And sure I am not the only one tho

Omg that's me...furry food! I'm forever throwing food now...such a waste..shame my girls won't eat what I eat! Oh well...it's all still worth it!

So then mrs...get a new pic uploaded!!! I couldn't believe when I got my holiday gear out how everything looked...proper wake up call to what I've lost!!!mermaid or not share share share...it's all too exciting :)

Yet to weigh as laid in bed but I know I've STS this week, but that's ok. I'm going to give ww a shot next wed just to see if I can get 1 more stone off!! Xx

I have just spent all morning and half the afternoon reading this blog and I am so totally inspired. I am having my band fitted on 6 th may and now just can't wait. Thank you soooo much for taking me through your journey you have answered so many questions that I had. I really hope that I can achieve what you have done amazing and well done. WOW

Good luck Kay. It's a great journey to be setting out on, with lots of us that will want to help you along the way x

Sometimes it's good to try a different approach and mix things up a bit. Confuses our bodies! Maybe points instead of calories will do that! I think I am like u now, maybe coming to a bit of a plateau, not sure if I want to push for another half stone to get to my goal of 12st or to stay where I am, cos I am feeling great anyway. 12st is still overweight for my height, I need to be 11st 10lbs just to be the top of normal. But I don't think I look overweight even at what I am tbh I am target oriented, so to not achieve my goal, what would I feel like?

Sts again this week. Average 1150 cals per day over the past week. Happy to sts, but also a teeny bit disappointed ... Feeling good, but still 7lbs off my final target. Gonna just stick with it and see how I get on over next two weeks given that my body tends to follow a 4-5 week cycle. Then will make decision about whether or not I truly need to loose that other half stone or not. I know I am still "overweight" but I don't think I look it. Omg I would look horrendously skinny if I went under 9st which is the lower end of normal weight for me! What a dilemma

Maybe I should have worn M&S clothes before, then I would have thought I was a size 22 not a size 26. Instant weight loss and cheaper than surgery.

LOL! Unfortunately I am 99% certain that Evans are very (huc hum) "generous" with their clothing sizes. So whilst I am now an Evans size 26, if it were available widely in other shops, I am sure I would be at least a 28 still in other shops (gggggrrrrr!).

This means that once I reach Evans size 16 i think I might find I am still size 18 elsewhere on the high street. :jelous: Or perhaps I will have to become aquainted with M&S !!!

Monsoon I think is going to become my favourite new high street shop at last - I used to look at it longingly for years, and now its become a reality.

I used to lust after items in the Wallis display windows (sigh). One day I might get there!

FB, I think you just still keep trying and stick to the rules. Are your carb levels high because you know what that does even if your calories are fairly low...and is it totm again? Bloomin hormones are the pits! Keep going....you're nearly there!! xxx

Well I am having a bit of a wobble today so my diary ain't looking good... But I am always honest about what I eat good or bad. Sts is not bad, but I think Monday will be the start of focus again. I feel puffy so maybe hormones. But also tired running round after hubby LOL :8855:

Omg I had a heavy calorie laden day yesterday, which definitely makes me think I need a kick up the ass as well as a small fill. Having said that, like mrs p said on a post a few days ago, that's the difference I feel having the band. I do not feel guilty. I just enjoyed it, and the band 'sort of' kicked in eventually. I dread to think what I would have had if the band was not there. I have tended to rely on will power rather than the band, but yesterday deffo tells me, that teeny fill is required so I will be on the phone to Dolan park tomorrow. Anyway I do feel focused again today, sun is shining, so all is good
