November 2014 Surgeries

How is everyone? post oppers how are the symptoms doing? K

I'm now 3 and a half weeks post op and feeling pretty good! Had lots of emotional ups and downs but no real problems. Had an infection in one of my incisions but antibiotics sorted it pretty easily.

The pain is all but gone, just get a bit uncomfortable at times but get incredibly tired after not doing much. All pretty normal I believe :)

I'm really looking forward to Saturday and starting the next food stage - on to soft food yay!! Need a few ideas on what to eat though :)

How are you doing??

Hear hear!!

Sharona you've done so amazingly well getting through 4 whole weeks of LSD!!!

Now you're so close to the goal of surgery it's exciting!!!! That's what all your hard work so far has been for.

I know it's really scary, I was terrified as many of us were but we're all through the other side as you will be too tomorrow x

Good luck for today Gweni, tranquil butterfly, icawm.

Hi web, I'm two weeks post op today and woke up realising I could lie in my tummy again! Yay!!! So for me at least symptoms are good. Or mostly gone. Still having what feels like wind pain occasionally and my scars are a little bit sore if I do too much. But really it's such an improvement. Our bodies are amazing! How are you doing? Xx

I'm also 2 weeks post sleeve and just like Maggy I woke up in my usual sleeping position this morning (on my front!). Despite my setback last week I'm now feeling much better. Still some tweaking in a couple of the incisions but manageable. Walked round to the local shop today all by myself! Bit knackered now! Start soft food today - can't wait!

Good luck to everyone today and tomorrow. Can now happily say it's worth it!

You are all doing brilliant. Loved reading your progress reports. All the best to SHARONA and anyone else still waiting in November xx

Haha. I too am now 2 week post op and am also sleeping on my front again haha!

First day back at work today (who don't know I've had surgery!) and I did get a bit achey around my port site today. Nothing that require pain relief but just noticeable! I'm on call tonight. And night shifts starting tomorrow.

I've had a hungry day today - tummy rumbles and everything! But had my shake at 6am then ate again at 3pm! So a huge gap! But not biscuits or cheating :)

I'm due for my 2 wk post op weigh tomorrow. I'm anticipating a maintain. :( but I know I've lost inches as my work uniform now fits with extra room! :):):):) so I'm gonna do my measurements again tomorrow!

Hope all you ladies having ops today are well and wishing you a speedy recovery!!

Xxx

Oh MizKirtsy, night shifts, food choices for me on those shifts, pre op have been a nightmare, wondering what I'll do in the future, all good I hope :)

The fact your uniform is looser is fantastic, gives you confidence that you have and are losing weight. Well done you xx

Yes deffo I refused to wear my uniform and was wearing scrubs. As felt like a sausage about to burst out my skin lol!!! Now it's loose :)

I know. I'm not looking forward to it. That's where my down fall food wise is! :/ x

Oh I looked like Tweedle Dum or Dee in mine, got my OH to take a photo before pre op, it looks hideous and my face at having the photo taken, oh boy. I know I shouldn't but I giggle at it xx

Haha they aren't the most flattering at the best of times hey!!

Hopefully I won't dread wearing them in future!! Xx

Sharona it's the eve of your WLS! I'm sure you are a bundle of excitement and nerves!
Well done for getting this far, for sharing your pre op journey so honestly and being such a support to many on this forum.
Your time is almost here and we will all be on the rollercoaster together and in 6mts time will be shadows of our former selves!
Good luck- let us know when you are on the other side !
;)

hi everyone, great to hear how well you are all doing. I am three weeks post today and I wouldn't know I had surgery three weeks ago. I have been back at work for two weeks, I don't feel tired anymore, up to around 800 calories a day and moved on to soft food with no trouble. Just ate a quorn cottage pie and had crayfish yesterday. Sometimes get a little ache when the food passes into my stomach but nothing else. Doing this was such a great decision for me.

Frustrated i am only allowed to walk, but back to pre op levels of 7 -8 km a day. good luck Sharona, and so pleased to hear from everyone else

k
