Hi all.

So happy for you about the 4lb Amanda, well done :)

Not the best day menu wise I'm afraid. Will have to be super good for the rest of the week or I'll never lose those 4lbs to 8st.

Breakfast - Half bacon and mushroom sandwich.
Lunch - Other half of the sandwich.
Dinner -Tuna Salad.
Snack - Strawberries.

Also my friend is coming round for a couple of glasses of wine. My dog had her x-rays done under GA today and it's was crappy news, she is riddled with arthritis and I'm going to have to do daily physio with her, pain killers, supplements and hydrotherapy so I can maintain the quality of her life to be as active as possible for as long as possible but obviously not happy for my poor girl. So I need the company. Hopefully she will start feeling much better soon.

Have a good weekend everyone :) x

Really sorry to hear about your dog shelleymarie.. Poor thing! Really hope she does feel better soon... Your menu doesnt look so bad to me! It's still a menu to lose weight on I'm sure.. xx

Thanks Amanda. Hope so. She is sleeping well now. Well the bacon was from a cafe so not lean and not grilled but I did take the fat off plus the wine of course but I am trying to let myself stop punishing my self, that might lead to sabotaging myself for not having a perfect diet all the time and try live by healthy 99% of the time and moderation the rest :) xx

I think that is what the bypass is meant to achieve, or so I understand it from my dietician and surgeon. The ideal bypass patient should not be on a permanent diet but have portion control and be able to tolerate a little of almost anything... I think the problem with most bypassers is that after years of permanent dieting and failing it is a very hard mindset to leave behind.. I know I for one am still counting calories and god knows what else like a mad thing, and yet I know I don't really need to do that now, as my portion sizes are so much smaller etc., and although I am no expert, for what it's worth, I think your mindset is just about right shelleymarie...

Thank you Amanda, some times it helps to hear others say it. I'm the same about calorie counting etc, I have a tendency to be obsessive so am fighting for a healthier approach to life. It's hard to find the balance between awareness of what you put in your body and being on a diet. I've always been good at diets, could stay on them months but it was when they stopped I had the problem and obviously don't want to repeat that. It seems it is as hard to break habits such as seeing yourself on a permanent diet and feeling like a cheat if anything but protein or fruit and Veg pass your lips, just as much as it is hard to break other habits related to food. It's all a learning process though and hopefully we will all get there in the end :) x
