Amanda - feel the same about the protein - am just not getting enough in - yesterday wasn't too bad with 86g protein, but I ate 1200 cals overall :(

Today is worse - just 41g protein and 1100 cals overall. Mainly because I took Mum to her stroke rehab class and ate a packet of mini cheddars while I was waiting :(

Have to revamp I think :(

Well done Maya, that's fantastic news. Good for you :) x

Just wanted to send you big hugs Chrisa, I know it's really hard at the moment but we are here for you and I know your family are too. I hope something comes up soon. You are doing well maintaining and some weeks even losing under the stress you are under. Big well done to that, you are an inspiration to others and give nothing but support. You deserve support in return. Anything we can do let us know x

My menu today -
Breakfast - Pineapple
Lunch - Sashimi.
Dinner - Chicken with brocolli and cawliflower in a cheese sauce made from bisto granules.
Snack - I was "forced" to eat a couple bits of a chocolate polar bear as I was having a bad day lol. I didn't mind of course as it was just a couple of bites.

Well I went back to the doctors again this morning, after taking ages to get an appointment again. My new antidepressants did seem to help a bit for a while but then things seemed to deteriorate again quite rapidly. The only thing me and the doctor can come up with is how drastically my life has changed in the last 7 months and it's just a lot to wrap my head around. With my previous history depression I guess that's the first place my head goes. Anyway my dose has been double, and will be trebled in 2 weeks time. Unfortunately these aren't the only answer to these sort of feelings but I just don't know what else to do as no time for counselling. Anyway I got to work today and felt a bit shaky and one of my bosses noticed and I told her I felt extremely pressured to make this work - not because they pressure me but because of the pressure I put on myself. She told me not to panic and that she was there to talk too, she said I'd done an amazing job so far and they are lucky to have me as I work so hard but I mustn't make myself ill. She is going to look into not giving me so many extra hours if possible because although I need the money, it's not worth my sanity. So sorry for babbling on but feel a little better now. I just hope they continue to be supportive. The only thing I would change about having my bypass is that I wish could have been more prepared that losing weight doesn't make everything better - plus really wish I'd taken everything a little slower so I had time to adjust. Oh well you live and learn! Hope everyone else had a good day and those of us who didn't have a good one tomorrow :) xx

tHANKS SHELLEY you are doing fantastic you are progressing with your antidepressants and plodding onwards until your body gets the dosage it requires for you to live and deal with depression. Pleased you are getting work sorted because that as i well know can heavily contribute to the way you are feeling. Well done xx n thanx for the encouragement x

Hi Paula. How do you track protein? Have you got an app that works it out? I have only ever counted calories before? Sorry if this is a dumb question!

Have a lovely time in Wales Paula!! and a safe trip... Hope you are feeling better soon widdershins.. xxx

Shelleymarie.. Hope you are feeling brighter today.. I think you are right about not realising with the bypass that losing all that weight doesn't solve all the other problems.. I sometimes struggle with that fact also.. Losing some weight hasn't changed all the other things that are wrong in my life... I think again you are right when you say if it was more gradual then more time to adjust, but with a bypass the weight loss is anything BUT gradual, so definitely takes a while to find that equilibrium I think... But you have done so well and achieved so much in such a short time, and then the added pressure of long working hours, it is bound to get to you from time to time..

Todays menu plan:
B 100mls skim milk & 30gms readybrek
L 150gm chicken, cheese sauce & 100gm broccoli
D 150gm poached cod loin & 100gms cauliflower
S 4 melba toasts, 1 L/F cheese triangle & marmite
S L/F Mousse

Protein 83gms - Cals 720 - Carbs 47gms - Fat 18.5gms
Drinks 1.5 litres NAS - cup bovril (tonight) - cup black coffee - 50ml prune juice - 2 cups green tea
