bypass daily menu -

Have had the worst day. Woke up at 4am because my husband was screaming pain. He was suffering central chest pain, with tingling down his left arm. I was so alarmed and worried I called an ambulance. So we were in a&e from 5am, lots of tests and lots of worry. Thankfully his heart is fine, it turns out he has severe spinal inflammation (possibly caused by arthritis) and the pain was manifesting in his chest. So we got sent home with some good pain killers and a referral for rheumatology. I know I'm a nurse, but when its one of your own its so different.

I must admit I had strong urges to eat lots of choccy biscuits - I didn't. But not entirely sure I know what I have eaten today, because I normally write it down. I know I've had about 5 coffees, but otherwise I've been good.

Oh my god how scary! So glad that it wasn't his heart. Well done on not giving in the urges.

Well after a absolutely horrible week I'm please to share some good news that I'm officially in the 12's and a size 16. Never thought I'd see the day.

Sounds like lovely day Maya. I'm desperate to go. Must make it this summer.

Today's menu.

B - slice of nimble wholegrain bread with low cream cheese.
L- chicken in a light tikka mayo with salad
D-shall be noodles with chicken and veg in a ginger and garlic sauce. Quite high in carbs but very nice.

Lots of tea and water.

Thanks guys, he's much better now. Now he's not worried he's going to drop down dead he's much more settled.

Worked yesterday and today.

Yesterday:

Protein shake.
75g red grapes.
1/2 wrap, chicken and 2 cheese triangles.
40g cheese, 2 belvita. Iced skinny latte.
Gammon and salad.
Nectarine. Latte macchiato.

today:

protein shake.
4 belvita 2 babybel
1/2 wrap 3 cheese triangles chicken.
Grapes and greek yogurt.
roast chicken, new potatos and salad.
strawberries.
 
Really struggling with food today...going to have some strawberries n cherries later I think
B- half a small slice granary spread with lf Philly, third banana
L- three quarters of a ryvita topped with lf Philly, sm salmon n cuecumber - Muller Greek yoghurt
D- one paper thin slice chicken, bite of granary, teaspoon slaw, 5 cracker crisps

Had my first weight management appointment since November today. I've offered to be a contact for people considering surgery in future.

D: Chicken, veg and blue cheese soup.
P: Solero raspberry lolly.
 
B- 1.5 weetabix, as milk
S- handful granola
L- one ryvita, Philly, sm salmon, one baby beet
S- ten cherries
D- one ryvita, Philly, sm salmon, one baby beet
S- Philly snack pack

Much better day, I seem to fare better eating tiny more frequently so will continue.....

Had a massive NSV today, this month I have had the first 'normal' menstrual cycle of my life. I've waited 19 years for this! Amazingly I'm only about a stone heavier now, than when I was 12.

B: Cereal bar. Caramel macchiato.
L: Feta dip with bruchetta. Mocha.
S: Banana.
D: Sausage meatballs in tomato sauce, with filled pasta.
S: Liberte strawberry yogurt. 10 honey roast almonds.

I've probably had the worse day food wise since my bypass. The steroids I'm taking having given me a real appetite for the first time since the bypass. I've been so used to not being hungry since my surgery, I don't like it. It's also my time of the month too so that doesn't help. Anyway terrible food choices today.

Breakfast - Half a cheese sandwich.
Lunch - Half a burger and a couple of chips.
Dinner - A small portion on noodles, veg and chicken.

If I'm just as hungry tomorrow I shall make much better choices. Brought lots of salad and fruit this evening for tomorrow. New day as they say.

Better day today! I don't have to take the steroids much longer either so that is good.

D - Salad - Lettuce, cress, tomato, sweet corn, olives, feta, bean sprouts, pepper and salad cream light.
S - Apple. A slice of chicken.

Green Tea, Tea, Water and Trop 50 pomegranate juice.
 
fwiw, I don't think your choices were all that bad hon. I do burger and chips as a dinner, completely homemade and no added fat, but still nice as an alternative.
 
My burger and chips yesterday were Wimpy! but I've done home made burgers before. Very yummy and much better than Wimpy. I think I'll made some soon and do a bbq. It's meant to be hot at the weekend :)
