Hi I am new to this sight, had my bypass 5 days post op, only had fluids for a day in hospital they gave me yoghurt and said to start my puree stage. I feel full all the time mostly drinking all the water, tell me this full feeling gets better and the trapped wind goes :(

It all gets better I promise. It takes some people more time than others but it will get better. The wind took about a week for me. Peppermint tea helped a lot. Just keep drinking water and worry about food later. Milk, yoghurt and soup are all good a getting some calories, energy, vitamins and minerals in the early days. Home made soup is great for that. Blend up some veg and your choice of protein and manage a few spoonfuls when you can. As time goes on you will have more space to eat more it all just takes time. Best of luck x

Thank you :) today has been a little better with the food, had homemade soup today and yoghurt, even managed some fresh orange juice watered down. So i am getting there :)

Well done hon, you've done so well :) Are you still losing?

Yeah, still losing. Don't want to though. Think ive lost enough

Danielle you will soon settle down this is for life so take it slow and be patient. follow your puree diet eating little quality not quantity.the next stage is easier and i found after 6 weeks i could eat most things. i have never got the full up feeling since being. on solids or if i do my head doesnot recognise the signs so after 9 weeks i am still adjusting but have lost 32lb and feel happier in myself which is more important to me. good luck

HI all everyone sounds like they are doing ok. I am still over earting I am still grazing, for some stupid reason, have been telling my self. My weight is stable however I know eventually it will jump up and that really worries me. I am eating healthily but have a very sweet tooth. With working 12hr shifts it has made things more difficult if I don't eat I hit a wall at about 4.30pm and the brain switches off not much good when I am working till 4pm. I am trying to only have fruit if I graze, silly thing is I am not hungry I just fancy stuff. Some days are fine and I am aware I need to fit in my luch and tea, so food is back on my mind I am fighting with myself. Have discussed it with hubby today I know what needs doing but am, struggling to do it. Next month will be my 2nd Surgiversary.

Same here retford... Really feel I have lost enough but am still losing even though I dont watch what I eat at all now.. Its almost like one extreme to the other. I will be a year out of surgery in August and have gone way past my goal weight and am under 10 stone now but dont want to lose anymore or I will start to look haggard and also will end up with loose skin, which at the moment I have been lucky enough to avoid. Who would ever have thought that we would be complaining about losing too much weight eh!! lol

wow chrisa!! 2 years after surgery!! You are around the same time as penny as her 2 year surgiversairy was a couple of days ago.
