I've survived!!!!

I will never eat oily fish again...ever!

B: 3 cheese triangles.
S: skinny latte.
L: brie and chicken with salad.
D: roasted veg and chickpeas with cous cous.
S: yogurt.

Hi, 2.5 weeks post RNY;

Breakfast: cup of tea
Lunch: 1/4 tub Glorious Skinny North African Soup
Dinner: 1/2 Youngs Ocean Pie

2 cups of tea, 1 cup coffee, 1 pint water.

Ceecie are you having enough? You should be eating about 6 little meals a day at this stage and usually puree. There are lots of things you can have, be imaginative I know food is the furthest thing form peoples minds at the start but you have to eat to keep your strength up. You need protein, chicken, cheese, milk etc. I used to get my meals sorted for the day, breakfast-1/2 Weetabix or 1/2 porridge sachet. s- snack pot yoghurt. L -pureed veg with meat from sunday lunch. s- custard with pureed fruit/sfree jelly. D- 1/3 -1/2 tin of Heinz big beef n veg or chicken veg soup pureed. s - milk/ milky drink.

there are loads of things you can have all veg just add gravy or cheese sauce , fruit pureed, once you get to 4 weeks well am going by my hospital yours may say different then go onto soft food stage, protein is most important, you can have soft cheese, dairylea etc mix it with potato or have as a snack. xxx

Thanks Chrisa, that's really good info. I can't seem to stomach much at the mo. even now, I'm trying to eat carrot and potatoe mash with cheese sauce, after a few spoons I feel all tight across my stomach and I can't eat anymore.
I thought I was doing well to be honest!! Lol x

3/4 SPOONS will be enough at first just make sure you get ya protein in. It will improve believe me. xxxx You are doing well but the protein is what keeps you going and helps you heal inside also water keeps the wound inside clean to stop infections. Wasn't a criticism just a helping hand xxx

Yeah I know, don't worry, I realise all you ladies are trying to help me. I need a stern word now and again :). Grateful for your time and experience, I know I will get the best results if I listen to everyone's advice!! X

Hi ALL has anyone heard from Mayamoo, just wondering how she is getting on. Know she had some problems a while back but I also know she was on about trying for a baby. Well if you still reading the post Maya Best of luck with everything hope all is well with you xxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi Chrisa, I hope you don't mind, I copied your earlier advice to me on this thread and posted it on a different thread as advice to another newbie who is struggling to eat. It def helped me so I'm hoping she will get some inspiration from it also! X

I had my op on oct 29th and was a little slower than some at going onto more solid food, note I have also never dumped. I loose approx. 2 pounds a week, I have cottage cheese two teaspoons then still blend meat into soup as I struggle to keep it down in solid form, same with tuna it just will not stay down, I do eat small meals still and approx. 6 times a day, one I add protein powder into milk , one is normally porridge, one blended soup as I say, then third of a banana then cottage cheese, leaving a evening meal which for convenience are at the moment weightwatchers, I have a third of one always plus a half yogurt at bedtime, does that all sound correct ? we are all different my only worry is my hair falling out so I do try to have proteins as much as possible, my skin is a little spotty at the moment but I think that is just my age as I am also on the change.
Any advice will be welcome.
I also walk approx. 3 miles a day at the moment.

think this is the wrong place to post this I was distracted !

That doesn't sound too bad at all Wrighty, you can just keep trying things because all of a sudden you will be able to tolerate things what won't go down one day ,may well do few weeks later, our tastes change but yes protein is most important. I know it was around 5-6 months before I even tried bread becauase I know some people never able to tolerate it again, until you get in the swing of things and find what suits you it is just pot luck from day to day. You seem to be plodding onwards and loosing a regular amount which is good well done and you are ok on this thread welcome my friend it is nice to chat to you. xxx

I have no problem with that at all it is an honour to be able to help others I have had so much help and encouragement since joining here it is good to be able to give it back. I followed my hospital advice to the letter until I was around 4 months when I started to introduce more everyday foods back into my diet, we all have to find our own way, another good tip is that meat once out of the puree and soft food stage should be size of a rubber on top of a pencil and then it should be chewed well before swallowing. xxxx:):flirt2:

Feel like poop. Got a cold thats been dragging on for 2 weeks, and now im on annual leave for a week has decided to come out. So food kinda low on the agenda.

Im not weighing myself at the moment, dont really feel the need to. Got fed up of being so obsessed. I have more stalls than losses now, but still going in the right direction. So im thinking to give it a rest until the new year, and then join everyone else in their weight loss efforts, haha.

B: handful of mixed nuts.
L: Chicken pasta salad.
S: 1/2 date slice and a cappuccino.
D: chicken and mushrooms in a light cream sauce.
