bypass daily menu -

Oh that sounds great! I didn't try blending berries on purée stage as I was dumping on anything with sugar in it, but I will def try now.

I'm on soft stage and coped with a banana (swallowing) but then went all dizzy and sweating off the sugar (I think).

I give the children peeled apple and red grapes most days and I'm so tempted to try!! :)

I used to have tinned fruits as they are softer. Berries like Fiona said are a good choice. Stewed fruit such as apple or pear is good and recommended by my provider. I can now eat any fruit without issues.

On puree and soft stage i used to puree tinned pear and apple and some times tin fruit cocktail with some muller light... Was heavenly!!

Todays menu:

Breakfast:
Alpen fruit and nut porridge

Lunch/dinner
A very tiny prawn cocktail and a while later, a lentil dish with stock, carrots, broccoli and chorizo.

Tea:
Cheese and a little brie and wensleydale and red grapes and a small piece of home made honey roasted gammon

Snack:
A very small piece of xmas pudd and brandy sauce

(Had a family dinner party for NY days)

Xx

Assuming your providers info said its ok, and you feel comfortable doing so. I don't see why not. You might want to break it into small pieces though. Even now I feel better taking the disperable kind.

On the whole paracetamol is fine, but stay away from ibuprofen and aspirin.

Thanks, I thought so, but took NSAIDS a few weeks ago as advised by a pharmacist, so I thought I'd check with the experts!!

NSAIDs are generally not recommended for us bypassers. Although I understand some people take them under medical supervision, and normally with PPIs.
In my experience most general health professionals haven't a clue about our needs post op, so I wouldn't necessarily take a pharmacist advice as 100% accurate.
I'm a nurse on a stroke ward and we had a patient a couple of months ago who had had a sleeve. Only 1 of our 4 junior doctors had even heard if it - I kid you not. Boy, did those kids get an education from me.

Yes I was talking about this last week. I hope there is a big push on educating health professionals regarding WLS soon! X

Funny enough, I did a research paper in the summer on WLS. One of the conclusions I came to was that surgery will become more common, and there will have to be a big push on educating professionals in general practice.

B: Protein shake.

Back to basics (well, a bit). Aiming for 1250 kcals. Im considering doing 1 fast (600 kcals) day a week, see if I get a boost like that.

I know or person who does it. Personally given m issues with food I don't feel it sight for me as I would fast and binge. I would worry about nutrition but if you're doing it just one day a week it can't hurt I think. I also go dizzy without regular food.

Today's menu;

ZILCH!!

In bed with the flu and can barely swallow my own saliva!! Around 400mls water taken today :(

If you have this again tomorrow you must see your gp hun. Bypassers are at severe risk of dehydration, especially this soon out of op. I know you probably don't feel like it, but you must try and keep fluids up at least.

Thanks Yve, I'm sat up sipping as I type!! Def getting dehydrated, keep feeling dizzy. Think I may pop into the local A&E to be honest whilst its quiet x

Might be worth doing hun. Better to be safe than sorry at this stage lovely.
