Hi Melissa did you find the transition from soft foods to normal foods ok, just looking at your surgery date and you're 4 weeks ahead of me. I'm still on puréed stage for another week or so then soft food for 2 weeks then normal foods. I'm a bit scared actually incase anything gets stuck or I'm sick! Xxx

Hi dimond,

I went with the whole trial and error route! But must say some foods I couldn't eat 4 weeks ago my body is now tolerating, I was struggling with all meats but that seems to have settled, I slowly introduced more solid foods and it was a case a few times I was sick! But think that made me more aware of what I was eating. Start of steady and slowly introduce, ie cauliflower cheese, mashed sweet potatoes, then cauliflower cheese with broccoli, I ate a lot of fish and fish pie at the start.
I also found I was very sick on the liquid meds so went on to tablet form 2 1/2 weeks post op so think that made me aware that I could tolerate things a little more than I thought.
You will get there! When was your surgery? And where? How your weight loss?
Love Melissa x

Thanks Melissa. I had my bypass on 13th August in Darlington. I only lost 3 lbs on pre-op diet then 1 week after surgery whilst still in hospital! I put 1 lbs on. Got weighed last Monday and lost 9 lbs yippee so can't wait for this Monday to see if I have lost again. I have to be on puréed for 4 weeks then 2 weeks on soft food then I can start to introduce normal food. I was 14 stone 1 when I had my surgery, ideally I need to lose 5 stone as I'm only 5 ft tall, but hey 9lbs is a good start! You seem to be doing great, well done xxx
