bypass daily menu -

Glad you had a good night Maya and got to really enjoy it with out the hang ups of being big. That must of felt good.

Glad you had a good break too Chrisa.

I tried 1 glass of wine a couple of weeks ago. I'd decided I would allow myself the occasionally drink on special occasions if I had enough calories for the day. I wanted to see how it affected me as I want to have 1 or 2 on my birthday. I found it went straight to my head and took quite a long time to get out of my system. I don't think I could handle more than a couple, it's very funny as I could easily drink a bottle and barely felt it before. My friends will find it very strange and I'll get a cheap night out :D

Breakfast - Half slice of toast with lf houmous
Lunch - 2 Ryvitas and lf feta
Dinner - Salmon and veg stir fry
Snack - Nectarine and half a diet protein shake

660 cals 54g carbs 51g Protein 5g sat fat

Glad you enjoyed your break Chrisa!! As the wine was flowing, I take it that you can drink wine without dumping? Is it different drinking after the bypass for you than before??

YES I can drink wine without dumping, but cant drink any where near as much as I used to, you do get drunk quicker but can still drink a few before i feel like that, think I must av had 6 small glasses from 5.30pm till bout 11.30pm so thats not too bad stretched over the evening, and evening meal in between that. It was only 2 nights so not guna beta myself up over it.:) x

Mayamoo, pleased you had a good school reunion, and that you could look back n see just how far you have come,

Shelley I was tha same don't think I drank at all till almost 6 months post, I drink no where near the amount I used to, I hate not being in control so when I'v had enough I just stop, 1 drink lasts me at least twice as long as it used too. Still enjoy 1 though, but usually once a fortnight. x

Thats how I would like to be eventually. Able to tolerate a drink now and again. Wouldn't be great if I could never have a glass of wine again, but guess I will just have to wait till a lot further down the road to find out...

It's different for everyone. I felt better by 4 weeks post op, a lot better by 6 weeks and normal by 8 weeks post op but I think would have felt normal sooner if I hadn't had so much sickness in the beginning, that set me back a bit. I reckon by a month post op you will feel much better and the tiredness etc will subside. I slept amazingly well for the first 6 weeks because your body needs the extra sleep to heal. Don't worry, it feels like forever at the time but it does pass quickly and when you feel yourself again it will be like the surgery never happened. Well apart from the weight loss and control over eating of course :) x

Think bout 8 weeks for mebut i was back at work after 2 weeks and was very tired some weeks i am like that once you start to exercise more the feel good factor kicks in so that helps as well. Takes time but you'll get up 1 morning and think I feel fine, when did it change? x

Sounds delicious!

Quick question for anyone who has had reputation comments. I found where they are but it doesn't show on under my info when I post, should it when you've had a few or do you have to have had lots for it to affect your reputation number on your posts? just thought I'd ask here as I know some of you have had them. Ta :) x

I have looked at them before Shelley but couldnt make much sense of it, sorry at work we have It Technicians they are my best mates xx

That menu sounds really lovely mayamoo!!!
I really do need some help with my portion sizes I think. I am really worried that I can eat so much. I can eat 150grams of prawns and they stay down, or 150 grams of mash and that stays down also. I can eat minced beef now not pureed and that stays down... I am honestly beginning to think that my bypass hasn't worked!!! getting so worried

Don't worry too much, early on I tended to pick food i count count per piece (ie eight king prawns/five scallops) to beat my fear I also took pics to try and stop portions creeping up, your bypass will let you kniw when u r full so just enjoy your meals and follow the guidance you were issued with xx

thanks mayamoo.. But I honestly havent felt full yet. I know I could eat more than I do, but don't want to do that. I suppose it is an inbuilt fear of over eating, or maybe I am just unlucky and my pouch isn't as small as it should be. I read somewhere that it is only meant to hold 3 oz of food!! well mine definitely can hold more than that. But thanks anyway for the reassurance. I think I am going to phone the dietician on monday and just ask her what she thinks though, as I really am worried looking at how little all you guys eat...
