bypass daily menu -

thanks mayamoo.. But I honestly havent felt full yet. I know I could eat more than I do, but don't want to do that. I suppose it is an inbuilt fear of over eating, or maybe I am just unlucky and my pouch isn't as small as it should be. I read somewhere that it is only meant to hold 3 oz of food!! well mine definitely can hold more than that. But thanks anyway for the reassurance. I think I am going to phone the dietician on monday and just ask her what she thinks though, as I really am worried looking at how little all you guys eat...

Me and others from my hospital have said the same about our pouches. Some say some surgeons have started making some pouches bigger. Not sure on the science behind why.

On the iPhone app, so can't see your stats. How far out are you? X

Im into my 4th week after surgery now. I honestly have wondered if he hasnt made my pouch bigger.. I feel no restriction even if I eat things like minced beef or prawns etc...

You will feel it when you eat more solid, dry food. Like dry chicken. Prawns break down very easily. And are great protein anyway. So I wouldn't overly worry.

Minced beef tends to be in a sauce or gravy, so slips down easily.

Solid food without sauces will be when you feel it. Believe me it will happen x

Thanks fuffs... It almost makes me want to go chew on a great bit of dry chicken or something just to see if I can actually feel any restriction lol!! how sad is that.....

It's not sad at all babes.

I worried the same. I was worried I could drink a lot and everything. Decided mine was a fake bypass at one stage lol. Then when I felt restriction I realised my stomach is actually much smaller.

I went to a carvery yesterday. A bit of roast beef and veg, I was stuffed. I had not put much at all on my plate. And still could never have finished it. So even though I can still eat more than some. It's a tiny fraction of what I could have eaten pre op x

Thanks ladies! I know i will feel better soon but I'm just so impatient lol xxx

Lol!! thats just what I have been imagining!! that they have just pretended to give me a bypass to humour me lol!! Rationally I know they wouldn't but cant help imaging all sorts of things... Its so great being able to talk your fears and worries out on here and compare notes with people who have been there. xxx

It does help a lot. I came on here asking loads and people put my mind at rest. So keep asking rather than driving yourself potty. At least you know you are not alone in thinking they just scratched 5 marks on your skin lol

Placebo bypasses hehehe

LOL!! thanks fuffs for helping me get it into perspective, and for making me laugh!!!! And actually I have six holes not 5 as apparently I was a little difficult to operate on so they needed an extra port......

OMG, I have just read this thread and it's almost like I can hear myself. I seriously think that they didn't really do the op, as I don't feel any restriction, and have never had any symptoms (done think this is actually a bad thing), and sometimes I think I will just go and eat some thing I am not supposed to, so that I can have some kind of reaction, but then don't, cos I don't want to damage my pouch. I am so glad I am not the only ne who thinks like this! What would I do without this forum to keep me sane?

Lol!!! I have been through all those thoughts myself. So you are signed off as still sane lol

Amanda, my pleasure. And if you have six, that would be grand deception! Hehehe. Don't think they would go as far as 6 scratches to fake lol

It's good to have a laugh ladies :D xxx

Sounds like a brilliant plan to me chick. Enjoy! :)

Amanda you have posted on my threads about how impressed you are with my losses - I can eat masses. Not preop portions but I didn't have a single issue with food. I can eat a tea plate of food without issues in most cases but felt very much like you do now. It will work. I count myself lucky now as I am losing the weight but can still enjoy my food and eat a healthy balanced diet. As someone once said to me - dare to dream.

I can relate to all of the above. I also find now that I actually do feel hungry, but it takes very little to make me feel full and that the best thing I can do is respond to the hunger and eat a little something, or else I start obsessing about food.

Yesterdays menu

B - boiled egg, plum
L - 3 slices chorizo, spoon lf coleslaw, 1/2 tomato, lambs lettuce, 2 melba toast, 1 light laughing cow triangle
D - spent all afternoon making a lovely chicken and leek pie (sauce made out of low fat yoghurt, and no pastry for me) but only managed to eat a tablespoon of it - thats todays dinner sorted then!

Back to school today uuuggggghhhhhhh. No kids till tomorrow so be a long boring drawn out day. At least I will be away from food back in work routine after today xx Have good day all you lucky people who don't have to go today, I apologise for all who would love to go but can't. Will post my menu later xx

Glad you had a good break Chrisa.

Well done on this week's weightloss maya and way to go on the reunion! Can't wait to see people I went to school with the closer I get to my goal. I was always the fat one in school. Funny though all the girls who were slim and took the mickey are now on the rising side!

Yikes can't believe how slack my blogging has been lately. So busy working as many shifts as possible and with the new market stall. Im the main bread winner at the moment after hubby was made redundant and what little work he had has ended! Busy busy.

My menu over the weekend was ok. Saturday was better than yesterday my calories and carbs were too high yesterday but, it's because I haven't organised food for me for when I do my stall. Something I will work on this week. Ideas welcome please!
Kids back to school this week my cycling regime is going to start next week need to burn more off and tone up.
My weigh in day today but am at work til 5pm clocked on at 10pm last night lol.

Hope every one had a great weekend will post menu later x x
