bypass daily menu -

Amanda I've not dumped yet either and I've have once eaten a bit of chocolate that had 10g's of sugar and I had a bit of pizza that I'm sure was quite high in fat. Not everyone dumps with fat or even dumps at all. Those two times I did that i was petrefied I was going to dump and I didn't but the thing is not dumping once doesn't mean you won't the next time so it's best not to test it. I know I try not too, the fear it can happen should be enough of a deterrent because from everything I've heard I really don't want to experience it myself. Also the thing with the bypass it's more about the portion sizes and malabsorption and learning to make better choices, not the dumping so best to keep concentrating on that rather than the things you can eat. I can eat pretty much anything without being sick or dumping but I'm trying to make the best choices and use the small portions etc. to aid my weight loss rather than having a list of things I can't eat as a reason I'm losing weight. If that makes sense :) xx

Thanks shelleymarie, that is a really sensible attitude to have. I suppose at some point we are all tempted to push the boundarys to see if we dump or how much restriction we have etc., But I am too scared to try all the foods that I used to love so much, just in case they don't make me ill, and then I would be back on the slippery slope to eating all the wrong things and just getting bigger again.. Like you, I try and concentrate on the small portion size, and the types of food that I choose to eat now, and hopefully eventually my head will stop telling me that I need the cakes and chips and all the other bad stuff that I have left behind....I don't know about you, but my taste buds have begun to change already, and I am beginning to enjoy the clean crisp tastes from a healthier diet, just wish my head would catch up thats all... xxx

I completely understand. I'm the same, my head plays games with me all the time. We will get there, unfortunately the head is much slower than the body at getting the message but it will eventually :) xxx

Ooh just had to share I just had a shower and thought I'd try wrapping a bath towel round me and it went round!! it's been several years since I've been able to do that. Happy :D x

Yes I have found that Shelley its brill isn't it its the little things like that that put a smile on our faces. Am feeling lot better today, yesterday wasn't too bad and we were out at a 40th meal lastnight at an italian. I ate bit of each course, they ahd potato skins i had a couple off them for astarter, pasta for my main ham mushroom and tomato, which i got put in a carton and brought home for toinights tea. Then for sweet we got 2 desserts between 4 of us hot choc fudge cake with ice cream, i had 3 or 3 spoons of ice cream n cake together n that was me done, it was special night and cost us £15 for me n my daughter which is greta value as she had pizz as well n brought half of that home. I am dreading weighing myself tomorrow as I feel bloated and am sure I havent lost an ounce this week.. And can I ask you chrisa what MSBB stands for in your menu? I am guessing it means medium sliced brown bread, but am not sure.....

Its Warburtons multi seeded brown bread i get the small one it means i can have 2 slices if i want, love it toasted. I used to miss toast, i didnt have bread till i was 5-6 months post op, as it wasn't recommende yet I see a lot of people having it when they are only a few weeks out, not good with bread buns make me feel stuffed, and muffins, it was then that I started to try pasta n rice as well, which stays down ok. I have never thrown up at all but know a lot of people do and have. xx

I was chuffed i lost a pound i thought i was going through another stall after losing 7lb in bout 4 weeks then nothing last week usually have few weeks where it stops then starts again, so was elated with that. Back to gym now as well, making myself go, have cut down things I do there though, have been doing 10 mins on x trainer to get warmed up, go on the weights machine for bum and thighs and legs, pull down machine to tighten up all the bingo wings, sit ups on the bench to keep the belly skin as taught as poss, and treadmill bout 10-15mins walking and running, using the gradients. Usually finish off with the vibrating plate love that and it means you don't ache the next day. Usually in gym bout 45mins to an hour twice a week and whatever other exercise i do during the week, pilates, walking etc. Will be looking for a new outfit for Christmas soon have to get in trim xx:p;):D This is for all those out there that thought I wouldn't do it or think its cheating having the op :kissass:hahahaha xxGet a life stead of picking faults with ours xx

Brilliant post chrisa!! And so very well said!! I am dreading going back to work today, as those that know I have had a bypass I am sure will be expecting me to be really thin!! and of course I'm not.... It was making me feel so very down, and then I read your post this morning, and thought Sod em!!! I'm proud of what I have achieved so far, and easy for those that have not been on this journey to sit back and judge, so am going back to work in a size 18 trousers with my head held high now.. have a good day everyone xxxx
